I woke up in the morning to a knock on my door. I got out of bed and stumbled over to it. Xavier was standing there. He looked cuter today somehow and I had to remind myself not to stare. He smiled at me.

"Hey, what're you doing here?" I mumbled.

"Well, the teacher sent me to find you so I looked here. You're supposed to be in class but obviously not. Nice pjs by the way."

My face went red. I was wearing pjs with little pink pigs on them. But shit, I was late. I'd forgotten all about it.

"Um, thanks, I think."

I spun around and found some clothes. I threw on a pair of jeans, a t shirt and a black jacket. I turned around and realised that Xavier had been watching me change the whole time.

"Um, we better go" I said.

I locked my room and followed Xavier. He led us to a small classroom. There were only five kids, not including Xavier and me. Gabbe, Michael, Lewis and Cas were all there. Although the other girl I didn't know. Pretty small classes. The teacher smiled at us.

"You must be Macie Adams. I'm Mr Peters. You're teacher for all your classes for the year. It's nice to meet you" he said.

"You too."

"You can take a seat. There's time to chat with your classmates later. Now, as I was saying..."

Xavier and I took our seats next to each other. I looked back at the teacher to try and catch onto what he was saying.

"So, as you all know, Angels have certain gifts. By the end of the year it's our aim to find out what each of your individual gifts are and for you to master them. But, as Gabbe, Xavier and Cas already know their gifts, you'll be partnering up to help the others succeed in finding there's. now for newer angels it might be difficult but I'm sure you'll all find it" he said.

I didn't understand anything he was saying. Was he crazy? There's no such thing as Angels.

"Um, Mr Peters, I don't understand. There's no such thing as Angels" I said.

He looked at me puzzled.

"Are you telling me you don't know?" he asked.

"Mr Peters, Macie is only in this class because the others are all full. We were only supposed to be studying maths" Xavier said.

Now I was really confused.

"This isn't a math class Xavier and I will not teach outside of my qualifications. I am a guardian and I intend to act as such."

What was a guardian?

"Xavier is there something wrong with him?" I asked.

"Something wrong with me? My dear, it's you there's something wrong with. Your aura is surrounded by blackness and you haven't got any knowledge at all. I'm surprised they even let you in my class."

Xavier stood up and grabbed my hand.

"Peters that's enough. Macie, take a walk with me?" he said.

I nodded and let him pull me out of the class room. Everything felt like it had been lightened up. The whole place seemed to glow. I followed Xavier outside and he sat me down.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"I feel light headed. Is that normal?"

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. Just get some rest."

Suddenly I felt over tired. My eyes closed of their own accord and everything went black.

When I woke up I was in my room. Gabbe was sitting beside my bed. She looked really worried and then relieved when I opened my eyes.

"Macie, your awake" she said.

"Yeah, what happened?"

"There're things you need to be told but that can wait. I need to show you something." She grabbed my hand and pulled me up. We walked outside and stopped just under a big old oak tree. She spun me around and we faced the school.

"Why do need to see this?" I asked.

"Just wait."

After a few minutes the wind started to pick up. My hair whipped around my face in the sudden breeze. Out of nowhere Xavier showed up in front of us. There was a brilliant white light behind him and I was suddenly able to focus on the light. They were wings.

Xavier had wings.
