"Wow, how romantic." Oscar quipped as the two drivers dragged themselves into the main spa area, their muscles still sore from the effort of the race that day.
The spa was empty, their footsteps echoing across the walls of the area.
However, Amaya noticed the grey ceramic-tiled floor had some puddles of water straying from the large, round plunge pool in the center of the room.
Presumably, due to anyone inside having been ushered out to make way for them.
Amaya preferred to think that it was simply because it was late in the evening, a small embarrassment creeping up at the idea that her search for relaxation had interrupted someone else's.
Being treated like an A-list celebrity was almost uncomfortable for her in that aspect.
The way people had to be kicked out of places to make way for her, or treat her with a sickly sweetness that was now almost unbearably artificial, all in the name of good service.
She wasn't so used to the lifestyle yet.
She always knew what privilege she had to have even started a career in motorsports in the first place, in part due to her father's previous experience and success in the sport himself, but simply having money was different from now having it be accompanied by fame.
While she had expected some level of special treatment, the drastic change in the amount of attention she was receiving - as well as the hefty paycheck she was now earning - would take some getting used to.
Although she would admit that some aspects might be a welcome change; especially being able to see a familiar face.
The girl turned her attention back to the pool after giving Oscar a look. As her head turned to the large circle, she could see a scatter of red petals bobbing up and down as the water swayed gently.
"Oh," she said simply.
Petals in the water was something neither of them had asked for.
The woman at the front desk must just really love making sure to set the place up for each guest, Amaya thought.
It was sweet, she had to admit.
The tall brunette laughed in response, looking over at her with a shake of his head before taking off his robe and tossing it on a lounge chair by the pool.
She noted his dismissal of the roses, and decided not to say anything about it either.
It wouldn't help to make it awkward between them when they had just started talking again.
Oscar stepped into the pool first, letting out a loud sigh of relief, his head tilting back as he sat on a ledge submerged into the pool for guests to rest on.
