Sphiwo's POV:

I was on the phone with my bestfriend Angel, last night after dinner. I finally found the courage to speak to someone and obviously I chose my best friend and I told her everything and obviously being the good friend that she is she suggested that I leave the relationship...just like how I thought she would....but I thought hard long and deep about my relationship with Bafana and I came to the conclusion that I will stay with him and stick besides him no matte what... I may not know still exactly who is , what he does, why he has dockets upon dockets filled with the most cruel murder cases ever , why he pushed my ex off a moving helicopter just to prove a point or why he never told me about his son or his ex wife but what I do know is that I want to love him and I want him to love me too.....I believe Bafana would never do anything on purpose to hurt  me and that he'll always protect me, like how  he said he would... I can feel it, I can see it in his eyes when he looks at me and hear it in his voice when he tells me he loves me...call me a fool if you want but this is where I'm willing to stay , this is where I feel loved... uBafana ngiyamthanda....ngenhliziyo yami yonke futhi....and thats the end of it.

Later on that night the family was gathered around the dinner table for dinner once again. The air in the dining room was filled with the savory smell of stew and freshly cooked pap.As the family gathered around the table, laughter and the gentle clinking of silverware filled the space, voices overlapping in warm chatter. MaDlamini took a deep, contented breath, her eyes sweeping over her family with a satisfied smile. she begins to speak.

MaDlamini: Bantwana bami, ngiyajabula ukuthi nonke nihlezi lana nathi nidla isidlo sanamuhle...ngiyajabula futhi ngoba nakho umndeni wakwa Mthembu uyanda ngoba nakhu sekukhona noSphiwo.....Sphiwo ngane yami, siyakwamukela laykhaya, anginendaba ukuthi wena noBafana nixatshaniswa yini kodwa kimi uyohlezi uyingane yami.

Sphiwo: (With a smile on her face)Ngiyabonga kakhulu ma.

MaDlamini: Futhi ngiyathemba ukuthi ngelinye ilanaga uzowandiswa futhi umndeni walaykhaya kugcwcale abazukulu...

At that, Bafana's eyes snapped up, meeting his mother's across the table. The look was quick but unmistakable—a silent plea was written all over his face. "Not now, Ma." He didn't want Sphiwo to catch on, especially when she didn't even know. But MaDlamini's smile only widened.

MaDlamini: Awucabange nje (she continued, turning her gaze directly to Sphiwo, who was seated beside Bafana. ) Umzukulu omunye omuhle ofana njengawe...ngingakjabulela kakhulu lokho...

Sphiwo: (Replying with a nervous laugh) Awu Ma ngicabanga ukuthi kusase early for abazukulu kakhulukazi ngoba mina noBafana asikakashadi , children are....a big commitment.

MaDlamini: (Shooting Sphiwo a look that only Bafana recognizes) It's never to early my dear...

The look on Bafanas face was very unpleasant ,his jaw was clenched tighter than usual. But MaDlamini and Bafana had both seen the signs, no words needed. The faint tiredness on Sphiwo's face, the way her hand drifted to her stomach without her noticing the breasts that have seemingly doubled in size and their tenderness that Sphiwo complained about to Bafana last ngiht after her shower.MaDlamini recognized it with the intuition only a mother could have, and Bafana... well, he knew every inch of her body by heart, how could he have not notices?

As MaDlamini opened her mouth to speak once again, Bafana cleared his throat and gave her a look that was a clear signal for her to drop the topic. She paused, catching his eye, and finally relented, shifting the conversation to lighter topics.
