"Thank you!"
As Sam pulled out of the drive thru, he
kept glancing at me, then the road."Yes?" I asked, putting a fry into my
mouth. It was fresh, salty, and delicious.'I still can't believe you did that."' Sam
said, side eyeing me again. "I said I had it covered.'"Maybe you did, but I beat you to it." I
said, shrugging, putting another french fry into my mouth.I noticed Sam glace over at the fries a few times, so I grabbed a couple and handed it to him. He seemed surprised but accepted.
"Thank you.' He said, mouth full of fries.
I nodded, then looked out the window to
see the sun beginning to set."Woah." I said, not realizing I spoke out loud. I saw my new friend smile beside me. "Beautiful ain't it?" He spoke.
"It's been so long since I've been here, I forgot how beautiful it was." I whispered.
"I forgot to mention, later tonight we're going out to a restaurant. Maybe you could come up with a coupe recommendations?" Sam asked, grinning at me.
"The Island Cuisine is a very good buffet here, I've only been there once." I said, pulling up a picture on my phone and showing him the beautiful boat-shaped restaurant.
"Woah, I'll talk to Colby about it when we get to the Hotel, but I'm sure he'll agree. He's a sucker for buffets.
The rest of the drive we listened to music or talked a bit bout some of our scariest experiences while we ate. With investigating, we were getting a good laugh about some of the stupid things we got scared about.
"Are you nervous?" He asked, pulling into the parking lot of a beautiful hotel. I glanced over at him and then back out the window.
"About what? Meeting Colby? Nah, if you're this nice, then Colby probably is, too.'
"What's that supposed to mean? And no, I'm talking about the main two investigations we're going to do." Sam replied.
"The Bowers Mansion seems pretty cool, I'm excited for that one." I said as Sam continued up towards the third floor parking lot.
"Hasn't it been shut down for a few years?""Seventeen, actually," Sam replied. "And what about the Conjuring house?"
I stayed silent for a moment once he asked. That might be the most paranormal house I've ever been to. "Slightly, it's the fear of the unknown, I guess."
"There's nothing wrong with that, especially since we have a medium joining us." Sam commented, finding a parking spot and parked the car.
"Really? Are they here?" I asked, grabbing Colby's happy meal and opening the car door as Sam exited. "No, but they'll be meeting us at the house."
I nodded as the trunk opened, revealing my luggage. I grabbed my backpack full of equipment, such as my laptop, chargers, and recording stuff, and put it on my back, slightly flinching as the strap of my holster dug more into my shoulder.
As I was reached for my suitcase, Sam's hand already beat me to it. As he lifted it and put it on the ground, extending the handle to carry, he grinned at me.
