1. the content warnings for this book include but are not limited to mild profanity, violence, possession/obsession, excessive jealousy, smoking, weapon usage, yandere themes, you get the picture—

2. as i said in my announcement when i first brought up this idea to you all, i was inspired by characters such as monika & yuri from doki doki literature club, the aishi family from yandere simulator (ryoba, ayano/ayato, etc), and— of course— .giffany from gravity falls when it came to the creation of the yandere for this book!

3. s/n = surname, it just means your last name. i am only saying this because you'll be referred to as s/n y/n at times. speaking of, many characters will be referred to by their last names/their last names will come first when they're addressed because in east asian cultures, the family name always comes first. however, once you become good friends with someone, you'll start referring to them by their first name!

4. this book will occasionally feature japanese, but not to fret, i will translate it later in the paragraph in bolded letters. here's an example of what it'll look like:
— "ダーリン..." reisuke called out, his voice dripping with a mixture of amusement and possessiveness as he stepped into the empty, cool, and dark hallways of the school. his eyes, sharp and calculating, scanned the shadows, lingering on every corner and crevice. "darling...don't hide from me." he continued, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. his steps echoed through the silence, each one closer to where he knew she'd be—he always found her. and when he did, she'd have no choice but to face the depth of his fixation.

5. piggybacking off of the previous point, you'll have to excuse if things aren't culturally accurate. my knowledge of japanese culture, the country, and the language can only go so far. i am simply trying to give this book a hint of realism. that, and it's sort of easy to forget some things that are different in japan, like how you dial 119 instead of 911 like in the us.

6. this book was originally going to be published as my valentine's gift to you all, but that doesn't matter! i just couldn't keep the surprise away! 😭
