To make a long story short...James was defeated but Bella got a broken leg and a vampire bite, but she's still human because Edward sucked the venom out. She's fine, but she wants to be a vampire and has been asking Edward to change her.
Now, the Cullen family is getting ready for PROM. The girls got ready together in Karlee's room. The boys were downstairs waiting with Esme and Carlisle when the girls came down the stairs going to their mates and Karlee went to stand near her parents.
"You look beautiful, sweetpea." Emmett says to Karlee.

"Thanks, daddy." Karlee says with a smile.
"I need pictures." Esme says excitedly. Each couple poses for individual pictures and a group picture. And everyone poses for an individual photo with Karlee. Her parents also get a group photo of them together. "Okay. Now go have fun."
They said their goodbyes and drove to the school. Alice and Jasper were in a car together and Rosalie, Emmett, and Karlee were in the other.
When they arrived they entered the gym.
"Monte Carlo isn't the best theme." Rosalie said, looking around.
"Could be worse." Karlee says. "Did you have an alien theme a few years ago?"
"We did. It was awful." Rose says with a grimace. "My favorite was the 20s theme we had when you were 7."
"Now that sounds like fun." Karlee says and they notice Bella and Edward walk in. "There's Edward and his blood bag."
"Don't let them bother you, sweetpea. Come on, dance with your old man." Emmett says as he holds his hand out to Karlee.
"Aren't you going to dance with mom?"
"I will...after I dance with you."
"Okay." Karlee says with a smile as she places her hand in his. Emmett leads her out to the dance floor and twirls her before bringing her into his arms.
"Do you think the drama is finally over?" Karlee asks
"Maybe. I mean the red head is still out there but we'll take care of it. Don't worry, Karlee. We won't let anything happen to you." Emmett says
"I know you won't." Karlee says with a smile.
A couple hours later, Jasper was with Emmett watching the girls dance together.
"They look like they're having fun." Jasper comments with a smile.
"They are. Rosie hasn't smiled like that in a while and Karlee hasn't been her usually bubbly self like she is now in a while either." Emmett says
"They are ignoring what is going on and just having fun." Jasper says
"They are." Emmett agrees with a smile.
Karlee walks over to them and grabs both of their hands to drag them towards the dance floor.
"Come dance with us." Karlee says with a big smile as she starts to pull them towards the girls.
They both laugh and let themselves be dragged over to their mates by their daughter/niece to enjoy the rest of their night together.
