Since PROM, not much has happened. Rosalie and Emmett graduated and they went on another honeymoon after graduation, but they will be back today. Karlee has been staying with the Cullens in Forks while her parents are gone and Jasper was technically keeping an eye on her for Rosalie and Emmett, even though she didn't really need it.
Edward is still with Bella and she is bugging him to turn her. Alice hasn't changed and is still the pixie-like friend to Bella, but Karlee has noticed that she has been acting differently with Jasper lately. She didn't want to think too much about it, but she found it strange.
Anyway, the new school year began and Karlee, Edward, Alice, and Jasper are now seniors, which is a first for Karlee.
"Is having a party for Bella a good idea, Aunt Alice?" Karlee asks Alice again on the morning of Bella's birthday. The family was in the living room, except for Edward, who was with Bella, discussing the plans Alice had for the party that evening.
"Yes! It's Bella's birthday. We never celebrate human birthdays. It will be fun." Alice said excitedly.
"We celebrate mine."
"Well now we get to celebrate more than just yours."
"What are you so worried about?" Esme asks Karlee.
"Well let's see...birthday party for a clumsy bloodsinger, who wants to be a vampire, in a house full of vampires, with a knife to cut the big cake that can feed 50 but can only be eaten by me and the bloodsinger....What could possibly go wrong?" Karlee sarcastically asks and she hears Jasper chuckle from his spot next to Alice.
"It will be fine. As of now, nothing will happen." Alice says
"It doesn't mean nothing won't, though."
"It's just one party. I'm sure it will all be fine." Carlisle says
"Fine. Whatever. But I'm staying in my room."
"No, you aren't. You will be there." Alice says
"No. I don't even like Bella. It's not like we're friends and she hasn't even bothered trying to talk to me since she found out about us. Why would I show up to her birthday party?"
"Because I'm asking you to." Alice says with pleading eyes
"No." Karlee deadpans.
"Then do it for me." Jasper speaks up. Karlee looks at him. "I'm not happy about having to be there either, but having you there with me will make it better. We can stand and suffer through it together."
Karlee looks at him for a moment before sighing. "Fine."
Alice wears a bright smile and hugs her niece. "Yay!" Alice cheers.

School went by pretty quickly and when Karlee got home she saw her parents in the living room.
"Mom! Dad!" Karlee says excitedly as she rushes up to hug her parents.
"Hey, sweetpea." Emmett says with a large smile as he brings Karlee into a bear hug.
"I missed you, baby." Rosalie says
"I missed you guys, too. How was the honeymoon? Where did you go?"
"After Africa, we went to Australia." Rosalie tells her.
"Really?"
"It was awesome. Snorkeling, parasailing, exploring the outback. The parasailing was my favorite." Emmett says with a big smile
"You guys can keep catching up later!" Alice calls over to them. "We have a party to set up for!"
Rosalie rolls her eyes as Karlee sighs.
