I woke up sobbing in Luke's arms...

Yeah, that happened sometimes.
I get a lot of nightmares...
They all feel so real.
And scary.

"It's ok princess." Luke whispered, rocking me back and forth like a baby.

I tried to calm down but was unsuccessful.

"You're safe." He said softly.

My breathing was very fast, my heartbeat loud in my ears.

"I-I'm sor-sorry." I cried, upset with myself.

I'm such a wuss.
And I hate it.

"Don't apologize." He whispered, rocking me smoothly.

I tired to get the past out of my head.
It's the same nightmare almost every time...

"Shhh... it's ok." Luke said calmly when my breathing got fast again.

I closed my eyes and tried to take deep breaths.

"Everything's gonna be ok." Luke whispered, continuing to rock me back and forth.

I let out a shaky exhale.

"That's it." Luke said, when my breathing steadied again.

After a minute I got over myself, my past trama going back to the back of my mind.
I just can't stand the nightmares.

"I'm ok now." I mumbled, looking up at Luke.

My face was probably all red and I bet I look pretty stupid being in his arms.

"Are you sure?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Yeah." I mumbled, wiping my wet face off, only to touch the glasses I forgot I was wearing.

My eyes went wide.

"People don't normally sleep with glasses on." Luke laughed.

"I fell asleep ok?" I grumbled at his laughter.

"You're cute when you're mad." Luke told me, a grin on his face.

"Sure." I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes at him.

"No eye rolling!" Luke announced, looking down at me with a stern expression.

"You aren't the boss of me." I laughed.

Who does this guy think he is?
I might be living with him, but that doesn't make him the boss of me.

"You sure about that?" Luke asked jokingly.

I smiled. "Positive."

"Well, you're wrong." Luke laughed.

"I'm right."

"Wrong."

"Right."

"You're wrong!" Luke exclaimed.

"No I'm not!" I laughed.

We did a silent staring contest, neither one of us breaking eye contact.

"You aren't the boss of me, so I can take these glasses off whenever I want." I told him, reaching up with my right hand to take the glasses off.

He softly grabbed my hand when it was an inch away from the frame.

"Actually, what I say goes, and I say they have to stay on." Luke said, fake seriousness in his tone. "For your own safety." He added with a smile.

I scoffed.

"Just try and take them off princess." He laughed.

Ughhh...
I can't resist a challenge!
Obviously he's stronger than me so there's no way I'll be able to get my hand free from his grasp.
But you can't stop me from trying!
