HAYLEY SWAN REMEMBERED THE DAY SHE HAD WOKEN UP FROM HER CAR ACCIDENT WELL. It had been the first time she had ever been in a hospital bed. The machine's beeping and the smell of sterilization and hand sanitizer forever marked itself in her memories. It had been just like she remembered it.
Her dad was there, hands clasped over his mouth as he watched her. They were filled with tears, relieved to see her open her eyes. "Oh, baby girl..." Charlie whispered as he shot up from his seat, looming over her. "Thank God."
"Daddy?" Her voice was rough, and it hurt to talk. "What- What happened?"
"Hayley, you were in another wreck. Alice said you went after Bella and got t-boned by a drunk driver. You lost a lot of blood, sweetheart." Charlie explained, pushing a strand of hair away from her eyes. "Luckily, Xander and Alice followed you. Saw the whole thing and got you here."
