Alistair of Utvia
Her eyes were wide, mouth slightly open. She was frozen not uttering a single word as her gaze never left mine. Staring at me almost in awe mixed with confusion. I expected her to scream, after what she had witnessed it was only natural for her to run and call for help. Instead she took a few steps back, perhaps hoping for the walls to swallow her and form as a barrier between us two. She might not have been screaming but it was obvious, she couldn't deny it even if she wanted to. The fear swimming in her irises manifested itself each time her body trembled.
I reached out to her, pushed the pieces of curly hair out of her face. Took her in as she was doing the same. The people of Utvia were known for their pale skin and raven hair. Yes, she must be Slatvian that would be the only explanation for why she looked the way she did.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's my first day here. I truly didn't mean to upset you." A voice as smooth as velvet, soft and gentle. She said in a panicked state. Eyebrows knitted together as she looked at me with pleading eyes. She was scared to lose her job?
"Name?" I watch her lower her head.
"Eris." She said barely above a whisper.
"Eris." I taste her name on my lips. I nodded my head as I took a few steps away from her. My gaze shifted from her to the heavy door. The woman seems far too weak to have opened it on her own, and if it was her first day here she wouldn't know this is a restricted area.
"Lieutenant Kagen." I called out to one of my most trusted friends. He comes out of his room, his pants unzipped and hair unruly. Kagan's gaze fell on the maid making him his eyes go wide. He quickly zips up his pants and fix's his hair. "Yes, my Lord?"
"Get her out of my sight." I told him. He makes his way to her. Gently grabs her arm and leads her through the heavy door. I watch the door close behind them. The loud thud makes Lieutenant Lysander appear from his bedroom.
"Who was that?" He wondered as he rubbed his eyes tiredly.
I shake my head. "A maid." I answered as I briefly glanced his way. "Get ready, we have work to do." I told him before I entered my bedchamber.
Sat down on my bed with my hand in my hair. Celia lays her head on my shoulder. Placing wet kisses on my neck making me shoo her away.
"What will her punishment be?" She asked curiously, her gaze lingering on the door.
I let out a deep breath as I buttoned up my blouse. "That's not something you should concern yourself with." I told her as I stood up. As I made my way down the hall, I pondered on what actions I should take next. Celia was right, it's a restricted area, however she wouldn't have ended up there on her own. Someone must have helped her open that door. I pushed those thoughts aside as I took place in the council room. Lysander and Kagen were already in a deep conversation by the time I took place beside them. Other lieutenants were seated as well as the kingdom's map laid flat on the table.
The atmosphere lingering around the room changed instantly as I sat up straight. Their gazes all focused on me."The kingdom's borders need more surveillance." I spoke as I waited for their commentary.
Captain Niles of the archery unit nods his head. "They have entered Slatvi already. Most are immigrating in fear of those creatures." Niles said almost in disgust. The anger in his eyes is rather easy to notice.
"Well that's not our problem, they have a king and they have an army." Captain Xenos answered annoyed.
Lysander raised his eyebrows at Xenos' words. "They don't want war, no one does."
