Judas Cooper knew what he was very early in life.
Some might call him a thief, others might call him a scammer, or pick-pocketer . But in reality, he was just an older brother. An older brother just trying to provide for his younger sister when the world turned their backs to them.
An older brother trying to provide protection, love, stability, and a home.

"Juju come on!! The ice cream truck's not gonna wait forever!"
Marley Cooper shouted, her brown pigtails bouncing up and down as she pulled her older brother towards the now stopped ice cream truck. She was a eleven-year old, and today, she wore the baby blue dress Judas had sewn for her the previous day. She also wore her white socks, brown boots, and white bows to hold each of her pigtails.
"Babe, hold up! It ain't going no where. You're draggin' your poor juju, give me a break, Mar!" The nineteen-year old shouted, throwing his head back as a sort of protest. His shaggy brown hair, which reached down to just under his ears, was in a small ponytail (done by his sister), and he wore beat up pants that were 4 sizes to big, only being held up with a belt he had found in the dump a few days ago, and a tank-top that was a size too small. He wore his beat up sneakers today.
That's what he wore everyday, actually.
"I know! I jus' don't want those other kids to get the good ones!" She groaned out. "Last time, when you was dragging your feet, Markus White got the last color pop!!"
Her tan cheeks flushed red, remembering the angering memory. Her hold on Judas's hand tightened. He winced.
"Little sister, let go! Ya squeezing my hand!!" Judas grumbled as he took his hand back. He didn't slow down, though, he matched the speed-walking his sister was doing. "I told ya before we left to chase this truck that you'll get what ya wanted, yeah?" He said, in which Marley had given a small mumble and nod. "Exactly, I'll make sure of it."
And he made sure she got what she wanted. A suspicious exchange of a bag , and a few dollars later, they both got colored push- pops. A couple of them.
They sat in the grass of an elementary school, which was in session. Loud screams and laughs could be heard from inside those grey gates. Oh, how he wished Marley could be in those gates. He couldn't afford it.
"Thank you, Juju!! Best brother in Atlanta-- In the whole world, mhm!" Marley said as he chewed on the pop. Judas watched her with a smile, wiping her face.
"Thank ya, babe. I guess you're a pretty alright sister, too"
He got a shove from this, which turned into a wrestling matching. Marley was winning, obviously.
