It was late one night, my nerd showing just a tad, as I finished writing my fanfiction. The story line was crude and overused; boy meets girl, boy and girl flirt around, boy kisses girl then claims it was a mistake, boy proves he was stupid, girl toys around and milks it some more, girl gives into feelings and loves boy. It was the same each time I tried to re-write it, thinking for sure this time it was different and unique. Every time I let myself down, realizing that I couldn't change it. I felt as if I was letting myself and others down; I knew I was a great writer and had some potential, but if I couldn't get past this hump how was I ever going to publish a "New" book. The clock struck two in the morning, and I had been working on this since three when my shift ended at the restaurant. I knew that a proper living couldn't come from working at The Counter for the rest of my days, I had to get a noval done and fast. By the time it was two thirty, I was writing the last sentence to the epic adventure,"Christian and Lizzie where in each others arms, watching intently, as Rose and Demery could finally have a real kiss." It felt good to leave it off there, where if I wished, I could write a new book branching off of this. I decided that I could read it tomorrow during the lunch break to critique it. The laptop was logging out as I closed the top down, the room became a place of nightmares. Dark and desolate, the air seemed eire now out of the world of true love, horror, and adventure. Once my eyes adjusted I noticed a figure by my window; thinking it was a placebo my mind created, I brushed it off as nothing had happened. Too bad I was wrong.

Glass came crashing in, while the wind blew my curtains around frantically like a small child, lost, looking for its mother. I simply froze, blacked out, became a human statue, regardless I had no clue what was going on and no recollection. I was completely alone, in an in between world of life and fantasy, just sitting in a world of dark. There was no time, nor sensation of motion, just blackness that filled your every being and the air around you. I eventually woke up though, like everyone else does. When my eyes opened, all that could be seen was a bright white light. I sighed, believing I was dead and this is what real peace felt like; there was pain that followed, tremendous pain, it radiated from my neck to my left arm. A single tear beaded down the side of my cheek, this was excruciating. My eyes finally regained all functions and at that moment I knew I wasn't dead but I was going to be wishing I had. All that was clicking in my brain was, "why couldn't you just be that overly paranoid person once? do you honestly think your ass is going to have a life if you ever leave this hell hole?"

I noticed the heavy metal bracelets keeping me chained to brick cell wall. The rest was surrounded by glass, and by the looks of it transitional based on the light. It was a light gray color signifying it was either early morning, mid evening, or overcast. It was definitely outside, I could smell the fresh cut grass and a mower just behind me. The ground was made of concrete and a toilet on one of the side walls that looked fairly clean. I felt what I was sitting on, a large furry animal skin sat right under me. It smelled of rotting fish and tears, but was warm and still some what soft. I could only have guessed that this was the bed, and seeing a toilet, I don't believe it was a urine smell that was left in the fur.

After I was done accessing the area and looking for any immediate threats I looked to myself and my injuries that had been sustained. I was wearing a peculiar cotton outfit; the top was a soft mint, looking almost like a strapless bikini top, then a hot pink skirt, about the same as a tennis skirt, lastly a pair of mint flats that matched the shirt neatly in a corner of the room that was not of access. I looked to my arm and neck, come to realise that it wasn't any lacerations but a tattoo. A coy fish, swimming in water with a lovely lotus flower resting on the water. For people to take me hostage they sure seemed nice about it, for now. I looked back over to the area where the shoes were; a padlock door stood strong in front of my way and a desk nearly in the door frame. A woman walked in quite briskly, grabbing my shoes and setting them before me and fixing my hair quickly. She reached down to help me stand once the shoes where on.
