Xander, who was seven years old, was finally getting ready to come home after spending four long months in the hospital. His mom, Valarie, and dad, Colby, had been by his side as much as they could, but they knew how much he missed his younger brother, Xavier, and his baby sister, Victoria.
As the doctors finally gave the good news that Xander was well enough to go home, everyone in the family was overjoyed. Valarie and Colby helped Xander pack his favorite things and get ready for the journey back home. They knew that, as a "glass child" with autism and ADHD, Xander had his own way of seeing and feeling the world. They wanted to make his return as comfortable and joyful as possible.
When they arrived home, Xavier was waiting eagerly by the door, practically bouncing with excitement. As soon as Xander stepped in, Xavier hugged him tightly, saying, "I missed you so much, Xander!" Even little Victoria, only two years old, waddled over with a big smile and clapped her hands, thrilled to see her big brother again.
In the days that followed, Xander slowly adjusted to being back at home. Xavier shared stories of the adventures he'd had and all the things he'd saved to do with Xander. Valarie and Colby gently helped Xander ease back into his routines, knowing how important that was for him. The family celebrated his homecoming with a cozy evening filled with Xander's favorite snacks and stories.
For Xander, being home felt safe and familiar, and he loved being surrounded by his family again. Little by little, he began to feel more like himself, and together, they all looked forward to a new chapter filled with love, patience, and a lot of laughter.
