"Arthur when can we stop for a while? My bum has fallen asleep! And I'm hungry!" "Stop complaining Merlin we're almost there.", Arthur told Merlin who was sat behind him on the horse. A few minutes of silence passed when Merlin spoke again:, "Do you know what you're going to say to everyone when we get back?" When Arthur did not reply Merlin said:, "I've been thinking about how you're here. Someone must want you to help us. Someone immensely powerful must know that we need you and decided to return you too us. But not many people have that power so we should be able to find..." "Merlin what if I'm not real?", Arthur interrupted Merlin thoughts, "What if I'm just a ghost or some sort of illusion?" Merlin was quick to argue:, "You can't be a ghost Arthur. You're made of flesh and blood. And I've never seen such a powerful illusion before. Arthur, you are real." Arthur stayed silent, deep in thought until Merlin cried out:, "That's it! Arthur I know who brought you back! Do you remember the Triple Goddess? She was the one who deemed you unworthy and made you decide between letting magic back into Camelot or letting Mordred die. She must have seen how much Camelot suffered without you. And because she saw that you realised that magic can be a force for good she changed her mind and deemed you worthy enough to give you a second chance to prove yourself!" In that moment they heard a shout. "Halt! Show yourselves!" It was Sir Merrill, a knight of Camelot. "Are you ready Arthur?", Merlin whispered. Slowly Arthur nodded and they turned to face the knight.
