What if? Mason Thames X Reader

The audition/meet cute;)

It was Friday morning, I had just finished my schoolwork (I'm homeschooled.) I have been waiting for this day, my mom signed me up for acting classes months ago, I got really good! Today is one of the 100's of auditions that I did, today I'm auditioning for 'The black phone' I'm really nervous because it's an in-person audition. Most of my auditions have been through video tapes or facetime calls, I've never got a roll, except for this one Oreos commercial and it was really stupid. I'm 14 now, so hopefully I've got a better chance now.

"Hey honey you ready to go?" My mother says peeking her head into my room as I'm practicing my lines.

"Yeah I'm ready." I say as we go out the door into the car.

"You nervous?" She says while we drive.

"Oh yeah, big time."

"It'll be okay, and if you don't get it, then it's just not meant to be."

"I know, just PRAY that I do get it."

"Way ahead of you!"

We get into the building where we audition, it's really empty in there, but also chaotic. I sit down in the waiting room for about 30 minutes until my name gets called by a lady in a suit poking her head through a door.

"Y/n Y/l/n?" She says.

"That's me." I reply getting up nervously.

"Alright now you can  stand over there and wait until you get the signal to start." She says.

"Okay."

A man dressed in all black sets up a camera getting the right angle, until the lady gives me a thumbs up. I say my lines and they record. After maybe 10 minutes of that, the man in black says "CUT" Then the lady says, "Thank you for your time, we'll get back to you in the next 48 hours."

"Okay thank you!" I say leaving the room and walking to my mom with a huge smile that says "I did it"

"So, how'd it go!?" My mother asks excitedly.

"Good! They said they'd get back to us in the next 48 hours."

"That's something!"

"It is something! I'm really excited!"

"Do you wanna go to get ice cream now? A little celebration?!"

"But I don't even know if I got it yet?"

"Still! We can still celebrate!"

"It's okay mom, let's save it!"

"Okay, you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

We walk out oof the building as I see a tall, lean boy, with curly dirty blonde hair, brown eyes, and a smile on his face. We pass him outside the building  as he's leaving too, I drop my page of lines on the ground. I don't realize so I continue walking to the car. "Oh! I think you dropped this!" A boy from behind me says running up to me. It's the same boy I saw. "Oh thankyou!" I replied.

"So you auditioned for 'the black phone'?" He says.

"Yeah I did, did you?"

"Close, I got casted as Finney."

"Oh really? That's so cool!"

"Who did you audition for?"

"Donna." (Just pretend that Becca didn't get the role.)

"Oh awesome! Well I hope you get it!"

"Thanks!"

"Well, I have to go, but I'll see you around. Hopefully!" He says laughing.

"Bye!"

"Bye!" He says back holding up his hand with his fingers crossed.

I get back into the car with my mom.

"Well he's cute!" She says smiling.

"Stop!!!"

"And he's playing Finney! You'd be his love interest in the show!"

"Mom stop!"

"Alright, alright... So did you get his name?"

"No, but if he's playing Finney I'm sure I'll find out."

"Ooooh! Someone sounds a bit eager!"

"Mom!"

She laughs as we drive home.

When we get home, later that night, I go on my computer to watch other auditions and I come across his! It's called 'Mason Thames audition tape for Finney Blake in The Black Phone' So I watch it, he's really good. And hey! I know his name now! 'Mason Thames' He looks like a Mason.
