Luna
Today marks 151 days since I got into my dream college, Westwood University of Arts. This school has been my dream college since I was 10, and today was finally move in day. I got out of my bed and shifted through piles of boxes to make it to my door. I went to the stairs landing to be met with the smell of eggs and bacon wafting throughout the house. I walked into the kitchen to find my dad at war with bacon grease.
"Do you need help?" I offered, my voice filled with pure concern as I watch the grease splash him.
"No, Honey." He responded before one last splash hit his arm, causing him to back away and throw the spatula. "God damn it!" he finally exclaimed, turning the burner off and placing the frying pan on the counter, away from the stove.
"Dad, you could of just ordered something" I giggled, glancing at the half burnt eggs sitting on the counter.
"What's the fun in that? It's my baby's first day of college. I wanted to be a good father and make you a good breakfast." He sighed, grabbing my shoulders as he explained his efforts.
"Dad, I don't need all of that. I'm fine with you simply running over to Reagan's and getting bagels." I reassured him, giving him a hug before sitting on the stool at the island.
"Good thing you said that because I already sent Blake" he sighed of relief, gesturing to the front door as my older brother walks in.
"Why hello, my dear little sister" Blake teased, messing up my hair before placing a brown paper bag on the counter.
"You better of gotten me my usual." I said, tearing the bag open and pulling out bagels.
"Of course, princess. One cream cheese bagel with tomato, avocado, bacon and egg." He assured me, placing it in front of me as well as a blueberry muffin.
"You're the best!" I cheered, slightly hugging him before unraveling my food.
"Yes I am" He giggled, turning his attention to our father. "That will be $27.89" He declared, holding his palm out.
"Oh how I won't miss your nagging" Dad retorted, grabbing his wallet from his pocket and placing 30 dollars in Blake's palm.
We all began eating before it was time to load up the car. We all worked together to haul boxes from my room to the front yard. Time quickly passed before I finally placed the last box marked "Luna" in the trunk. I shut the hatch and turned to face my dad and brother.
"Ready to go? Dad asked us. "If we don't leave now we won't be there before rush hour starts."
"Ready" I stated with a smile. "I call shotgun!"
"Oh, you bitch!" Blake yelled, chasing me to the passenger seat expecting to beat me.
"Haha" I mockingly laughed, settling in the seat.
"Are we sure she's old enough for college? She's acting like a 5-year-old" He rolled his eyes, walking to the back seat.
"Okay, no more of this for the car ride or I'll drive us off a cliff" Dad laughed, strapping himself in and starting the car.
And we were off. Our two-hour drive to the school started and I was in charge of aux.
"Only songs in English, please" Blake begged.
A smirk appeared on my face as I played 'Seven' by Jungkook and Latto.
"Oh my fucking god" He groaned.
"Hey, you said only songs in English. This is English" I said, turning the stereo up to 20.
Halfway through the car ride, dad pulled into a rest area, and we all exited the car. I immediately went for the vending machine, snagging a bottle of Dr. Pepper and a bag of cheddar and sour cream chips. On my way back to the car, the items fell from my hands as I bumped into a large figure. I immediately looked up to see an angry guy looking down at me.
