Chapter 17: Darkness Vs Darkness Round One!

Marnie/Ash: Pawinard/Killer Frost.

Bonnie: Kick each other's asses!

Marnie/Ash: Language/Thats my girl. Iron Defense/Hail.

A cloud of hail appeared, raining sharp ice shards. Pawniard gleamed with its newfound defensive power. It got hit by the hail, making the steel type flinch.

Pawniard: May we have a honest-

Frost: I'm gonna kill you.

Ash: Snorunt, don't say that.  (whispers)  Do me proud.

Marnie: I know how much you hate going first, so I will. Metal Claw.

Ash: Will-o-Wisp.

Pawniard charged in, claws gleaming. Frost shot out fire spheres, making Pawniard burned. The Pokemon flinched from hail and burn, but still charged in. Frost used Blizzard, pushing Pawniard back, doing a decent amount of damage.

Marnie: I just need two hits, that's all I need. Swords Dance. One hit, one hit. Iron Head!

Frost: Dad, I'm willing to use it.

Ash: Then let's.

Pawniard closed in, Frost letting him. Pawniard was quiete slow, so Frost waited for a little. Marnie noted he needed speed training.  Right as he made contact, the snow hat pokemon used its ace in the hole.

Ash: Destiny Bond.

Both Pokemon fainted, due to the effects of destiny bond. Marnie glared at Ash, while the trainer whistled innocently.  He gave her a wink, making her hide her face around his head.

Ash: Killer Croc, your turn.

Marnie: Florgato, seed bomb.

Ash: Dragon Pulse.

A purple dragon erupted from the tiny crocodile. Florgato shot out massive seeds, but the dragon batted them aside. It charged forward, but Florgato evaded easily. The cat jumped forward, right into a Fire Fang. She screamed in pain, while Croc threw her away.  He tried to hit her midair with dark pulse, but Florgato destroyed it with Play Rough.

Marnie: Night Slash.

Ash: Gunk Dragon Shot.

Calem: That's why Marnie will lose.

Bonnie: What?

Calem: Marnie's pokemon are either equal or above Ash's in pure power. But the reason he'll win is because he thinks outside the box. His plans, his moves, his actions, they're eradicate hard to pinpoint. an advantage. She can't predict his move, because he can't predict his move. He thinks on the fly, reacting to opponents with tricks, and a wide arsenal. She's calculated, and always has a plan. But she suffers in the aspect of being quick on her feet like Ash. Even if Armouge wasn't the pokemon he picked for me to battle, I would still have gotten destroyed because he knows how to react, giving him an edge on the battlefield.

Bonnie: What?

Calem: (signs) Ash will win because he thinks on his feet, while Marnie has a disadvantage when her plans go awry.

Bonnie: Heart Vs Head.

Calem: (ruffles her hair) Good enough kid.

Bonnie: I am not a kid emo! (Calem has a tick mark)

Calem: We should take cover.  (Bonnie and Serena nod, Shawna tilts her head) Something tells me when these go at it-

A poison dragon charged at the Paldean starter with the urge to kill. Florgato threw her dark sword at the creature, but it dissolved on contact. The dragon slammed into Florgato full force. The ground underneath Florgato was destroyed, but the cat was still standing.
