You weren't the kind of girl to go to an exes concert, because you only had one famous ex, you were so the kind of girl to go to an exes concert.
You weren't sure what you were doing, you weren't sure what you were doing when waiting in the virtural que for VIP tickets, you weren't sure what you were doing when you first even heard about the tour.
You were going with a friend, who was an actual fan of Gracie. Listening to her music now made you feel sick, you couldn't even fathom why you were going to her concert in the first place!
You stood at the way front of the line to enter with to your friend, you had camped out there all day, along with all her other dedicated fans. But the difference between you and them is that you dated her, and according to you, that evidently meant you had to be more dedicated than the actual fans.
It was an excuse, though.
The two of you were on your phones, beginning to grow sick of the wait. But luckily, you were only a few minutes away from being let in. While you were waiting, you had traded and made bracelets with the people behind you in line. They had all recognized you and were just as confused as you were on why you were there. They didn't shade you for being an ex and instead used teenage girl vocabulary and told you that you "ate down" and were "iconic" for it, and with your little understanding of it, (since you stayed off TikTok because you believed people were hating on you) played along and said things you did know.
After the interraction, you decided to re-download TikTok, since apparently Gracie fans didn't hate you.
You and your friend had taken the whole concert unserious and had worn matching Spongebob and Patrick costumes, referring to an old fandom joke. You saw no one else had as much commitment as you two did and you felt a bit odd in your Spongebob outfit, at least you and your friend hadn't painted your skin like she had suggested.
You could see people taking pictures of you and hearing them gossiping about you, saying things like, "oh my god, that's the girl Gracie use to date!" with a response of something along the lines of, "I know! Why is she here? I'm not gonna shade her though, I so would too!"
The thing that actually hurt was being called, "what's her face," or, "the girl up there in the Spongebob costume!" because you were more than that. You believed weren't famous because of Gracie and was hurt to know that's all you were known for, being her ex.
You counted down the seconds until the worker came up and asked to see your ticket so they could scan it, and when they did, you were fast to pull out your phone and open Ticketmaster. Being in that line was growing uncomfortable, especially because you had been in it for hours, and you also just wanted to be first so you could get barricade right in the middle.
You quickly rushed in with everyone else, and did get barricade right in the middle, and you believed you had horrible luck.
But now came waiting for the actual concert to start, more waiting!
