Silent Lies follows investigative journalist Choi Seungcheol as he probes a series of disappearances in a small town. Choi Seungcheol (Scoups)
A highly respected investigative journalist, Scoups has a sharp mind and a determined personality. He's excellent at piecing together facts, but emotionally, he's been closed off ever since a painful event in his past (perhaps a previous relationship gone wrong or the loss of someone close to him). He's been so consumed with his career that his personal life has suffered, and he's never allowed himself to get too close to anyone—until now.
Intelligent, serious, and sometimes brooding, Scoups has a quiet, intense charisma. He's not easily swayed by emotions, preferring to solve problems logically, which often means he can be distant and aloof.
Scoups is initially driven by a desire to solve the mystery of the disappearances that have haunted the town. But as he works with Jeonghan, he begins to feel things he hasn't in a long time—things he isn't sure he's ready to confront.
