"Do you think she'll like me?" Yoko asked nervously, grabbing Faye's arm just before it reached up to knock on the door.

Faye's eyes softened, and Yoko sighed as her girlfriend placed her hands over her cheeks, the warmth making her close her eyes momentarily before opening them. "She will," Faye assured her with a smile. "Lux is the kind of girl who reads energy really well. You're the sweetest, most down-to-earth girl ever. She'll love you."

Yoko exhaled deeply, offering Faye a hesitant smile. "But what if she hates me?"

"She won't," Faye chuckled, gently caressing Yoko's cheek. "Even if, for some reason, she didn't like you-which she won't-I wouldn't care. You're the love of my life."

Yoko couldn't take it anymore; she leaned forward and pressed her lips to Faye's. The relief that washed over her was overwhelming, grounding her as her anxieties melted away. She knew she was letting her fears cloud her mind, but it was hard meeting someone so close to Faye.

Pulling back, Yoko rested her hands on Faye's chest, looking up at her with as confident a smile as she could muster. "I'm sorry. I know I've been making things really difficult these past few days."

Faye shook her head and leaned down to kiss Yoko tenderly. "Don't apologize. Remember how terrible I was when I first met your mom? I think I cried from the anxiety."

Yoko laughed, covering her mouth with her hand as Faye gave her a playful glare. "I mean, you did have to convince her to let her daughter move across the country with you. She was so happy after meeting you, by the way. Kept saying how proud she was of her daughter for landing a rich, attractive girlfriend."

Faye puffed out her chest with pride, making Yoko laugh at her triumphant expression. "She doesn't have to worry," Faye said, winking. "Her daughter will always be my top priority."

Yoko rolled her eyes, giving Faye a light smack on the arm. "Alright, Miss Confidence. Why don't you go ahead and knock now?"

Faye chuckled, raising her hand to the door again. "Alright, alright." She gave the door a few solid knocks, then turned to Yoko, slipping her hand into hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

A moment later, the door swung open, and Lux appeared. Her gaze flicked quickly from Faye to Yoko, her wide smile lingering a beat too long. "Hey! You must be Yoko," she said, extending a hand. "I've heard so much about you."

Yoko blushed, shaking Lux's hand a bit awkwardly. "All good things, I hope."

Lux laughed, her eyes staying on Yoko a little longer than felt comfortable. "Only the best," she replied smoothly, her tone just a shade too warm. She stepped aside, gesturing for them to come in. "Come on, don't be shy. Make yourselves at home."

As they entered, Lux's hand lightly brushed Yoko's back, sending a small, uneasy jolt through her. Faye, however, didn't seem to notice, already pulling Yoko by the hand into the living room.

"You're extremely gorgeous, Yoko," Lux commented. Her tone was light, yet something about it made Yoko's stomach twist. "Faye chose well."

Yoko forced a polite smile, glancing at Faye, who was smiling at Lux's compliment, oblivious to Yoko's slight discomfort. "Thank you," Yoko replied, trying to keep her voice steady.

Lux's eyes lingered on her before she finally turned to Faye. "I'll grab us some drinks," she said, her gaze sliding back to Yoko as she added, "You two get comfortable."

As Lux disappeared into the kitchen, Yoko sat down, leaning closer to Faye. "She's... really friendly," Yoko whispered, trying to keep her tone neutral.
