The new boy group.

The chance i got.

The spotlight feels blinding, but i cant look away. The judges are sitting in front of me, their eyes unreadable. My heart is pounding so loud im sure they can hear it, but i push past the fear, close my eyes, and let the music take over. This is my moment if i screw this up, ill never get another chance.

The music starts and i look around at the other trainees giving them a look of hope as our bodys begin taking the lead and our voices blend with our dancing.

We complete the stage and get a little feedback from the judges. We get off stage as the other team slolwly makes their way to where we were just standing. 

I was filled with fear, i knew that i was placed in the lower rank group and knew that people saw me as a weak contestant, but i put my all into this performance to show them that i deserve a higher rank. 

The other team is slowly making their way to the end of their performance and i cant help but think how cool they are, i really wanna join them next round.

The judges again give some feedback to the trainees and the round is over.

We all make our way towards our rooms again, im roomates with higher rank, Kang Nechan. He's half korean, half american but he has the visuals of a god and vocals of an angel. 

"Yo, Chayeon hyung wanna go practice?" Nechan asked as we both entered our room. 

"Oh? Uhm yeah sure" I said a little questioning, why did he wanna practice with me, a lower rank?

We went to the practice room and danced a couple dances, i was a giant NCT fan and i think Nechan knew cause he played a lot of their songs. 

After practicing for a couple hours we went to the shared kitchen to get a little snack. 

Me and Nechan had never had the chance to really talk even though we were roomates so it was nice practicing and bonding with him for a little while. 

"Its nice having another american here, i can actually talk my native language with you" Nechan said laughing a little

"Yeah its nice" I replied agreeingly while drinking a little carton of banana milk

"Anyways lets head back to our room we are starting another round tomorrow so we should probably rest a little" I said to Nechan as i got up from my chair.

Nechan replied with a little "Yeah" and began heading back to our room.

We didnt talk much after that we both went to bed and slept till we heard the announcement alarm. We got up and went to the shared living room where the big announcement screen was.

Everyone slowly arrived one after another and when everyone had arrived the screen began explaining the next round.

"This round we will have 3 different groups and will be a Nct round. The songs this round will be Walk by Nct 127, Poison by Nct 127 and Steady by Nct wish. The top 3 will be able to assemble their group and pick which members they want in the group." The screen said as we all listened.

"We will start with Rank 1, Kang Nechan. Firstly you may pick one of the 3 songs." The screen said to Nechan and he looked up and said "Walk by Nct sunbaenims please"

"Very well. Nakamura Haru which song would you like" The screen said and Haru replied with "Steady by Nct wish please."

"And lastly Choi Sangyeop youll have Poison by Nct dream. Now you all may start chosing your members" the screen said waiting for replies.

They all picked out their members and i was almost confident i would be one of the last ones chosen but to my surprise Nechan chose me as his first pick. I was confused but also very happy it was my time to show them what i really got. I hurriedly thanked Nechan as i went to stand behind him.

Everyone was placed in groups and now we had time to practice. We all agreed that Nechan would probably be the best member as our leader for now so he got the leader role and teached us very well the different moves and helped us with our vocals as well. He would be a great leader i thought.

We sat down in a circle and picked our parts. Everyone had voted for me to take the Main rapper role so i accepted it with a smile being thankful that people actually noticed my skills in rapping.

Everyone got their parts and of course Nechan got Main Vocal as i had expected. We all began training and i went to a different room to practice my rap lines.

As the days went by and we got closer to the performance date we began practicing all together and i was pretty proud of my team we were well together and everyone was so talented.

This round i was kinda excited for the performance, i was confident in my team and really hoped we would all place high.

The performance was just around the corner and i had become really close with Nechan we would even practice together in our room and he would always compliment my rapping skills we had really became great friends and i was happy i got the chance to be in the same team as him.
