Lena watched, mesmerized as her pink candle burned brightly with feminine energy from the Goddess. She was performing a love spell, allowing herself to receive more love and affection from those around her. Lena wanted to induce positive energy and find her soul mate. Together, they would unite and become True Ones.

Lena’s mother had often told her stories of True Ones. Two people who were born to be with each other and serve the God and Goddess together. It was said that the God and Goddess united the True Ones at birth, and that the two people had a deep connection between them. Lena had heard of strangers meeting and falling in love within five minutes. It was idolized among humans, yet rarely happened with them. It was commonly called love at first sight.

Lena almost felt sorry for the humans. They had worshiped the God and Goddess too, way back in the Olden Days. Now, the humans were a hated race, doomed to live in suffering, their happiness pale to what it once was.

Lena was glad she had the privilege of being a Laginthe. She would rather sacrifice her life than stop worshiping the God and Goddess. She would rather never live at all if she couldn’t have a soul mate.

Becoming distracted, Lena focused all her energy back into her spell and began to chant while slowly twirling her hands.

Candle flame, help me now.

Help me to love, show me how.

Thoughts of dreaming by the sea,

Help my True One come to me!

Let them be kind, let them be true.

May we both always worship you.”

Lena moved slowly and mixed the now broken rose petals into her cauldron. She added lilac for comfort, vanilla for desire. She then got a ladle and dipped the contents into a cup. She took a slow, deep breath and drank it all.

Feeling her spell’s soothing effect, Lena softly blew out the candle, thanked the God and Goddess, and climbed into her bed. It was late, and her spell was soft, caressing her with gentle whispers and a warm lover’s touch…
