So this is quite short and some of you might find it boring, but I hope it's still enjoyable :)

Sometimes he wonders how they ended up like this. How he got so lucky to have her, Emma Swan, savior, mother, princess... It's all so unbelievable.

The first time they met, back in the Enchanted Forest, he knew that she was special - he hadn't seen someone so brave, independent and strong since... well, Milah. On the other hand, he hadn't seen someone with such high walls either in his entire life. When they climbed the beanstalk, he realized how much they had in common, and it just made him want to crumble her walls more. She was a challenge, and he loved those.

Although he understood why she betrayed him, it was still a punch in the gut, and it reminded him to the villain he truly was and that he had a crocodile to skin. Revenge took over him fully again, and god, he told her terrible things, even tried to kill her.

You and I, we understand each other.

This sentence changed something in him, although he still thought about nobody but himself. But after he set sail, everything felt wrong, so he decided to help them. He even gave up his vengeance and went back to the one place he never intended to return. He wanted to be a part of something, but more importantly, he wanted to be a part of her life.

After their first kiss, he knew what he wanted to do instead of revenge for the rest of his days.

When I win your heart, Emma, and I will win it, it won't be because of any trickery. It will be because you want me.

Well, winning her heart was probably harder than he expected, and it required giving up his ship for her. If someone had told him a year ago that he would chose a woman insted of his ship, he would have laughed in that someone's face.

He still didn't get anything. She almost married a man, then Neal was back in her life, then he died. Although there were no more obsticles, she till didn't let him in. And when she said she would go back to New York, he broke into pieces again.

Then they fell through a time portal and everything changed. They both saw another side of each other, and he was sure he couldn't love her more. He was wrong, though, because every moment he has been spending with her made him fall for her more.

After they got back, he believed that everything would go back to normal and Swan would push him away. When she appeared that night outside of Granny's, he still didn't dare to hope, until she asked how he got to her. And when she kissed her, he thought it was a dream coming true, because she was in his arms, and she let him kiss her until they were both breathless.

After that, he felt happier every day, enjoying every moment they shared. It wasn't easy, evil forces, their pasts, death and darkness tried to tear them apart every single day.

And now, sitting at Granny's with her, cherishing what they have... it feels right. It feels like happy ending, but it's not. It's just the beginning.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" Emma exclaims, after speaking his name and waving her arm three times. He quickly comes back to reality, and gives her a wide smile.

"Sorry, Swan. I am." He presses a kiss to her temple, and steals a sip of her hot cocoa. She answers with a head-shaking.

"What were you thinking about anyway?" She asks, leaning against his shoulder, and playing with his hook.

Instead of answering, he kisses her with the hope that she understands. Understands how much he loves him, that what he feels can't be put into words. They only pull away when the door opens with a tinkling sound, and Henry walks in to have breakfast with them like every Monday morning.

Life can't be more wonderful.

I'm going on holiday to Greece today, I'm really excited! So, if I don't update in the next 10 days, it will be because of that. :)
