"Honey? Wake up."

A soft hand shook me slowly and softly as I was sleeping quite a bit well, getting the nice feeling from the dream I was having. Celebrities greeting at me with respect, fans wanting my autograph and photographers taking pictures of me. But then again, I was dreaming and I knew I was dreaming, was that still a dream?

"I'm awake," I mutter underneath my breath not sure the sound could reach my mom's ears or not. I was sitting comfortably on my first class seat with extra leg room, for the first time, and actually feeling like a real queen with flights attendants bringing me anything I want.

I mean not everyone experiences this at the age of 16, don't blame me for considering myself as one of the luckiest teenagers in the world.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. We'll be beginning our descent into South Africa, Cape Town shortly. Please make sure your seat belts are securely fastened, all your electronics are in airplane mode, and your seat is in its upright position," a voice could be heard through the intercom of the plane.

"Fasten your seat belt," Mom says as she does so too.

I sigh, "Mom, come on." Mothers... I mean I have ears too and I could speak English very well so obviously I heard the instructions of the Flight attendent. Maybe that's how all mothers are - extra worried always.

"Are you feeling excited?" she asks and I was sure I heard her squealing a bit. I was pretty sure that excited was not the word I could use to describe what I was feeling.

Going from your country to a foreign country while in school has never been exciting, to me at least. But I was not angry at mom, I was kinda sad knowing that I left my one and only friend whom I was not even that close to. I was going to a new country, a different environment, country with different languages and ways of doing things. I didn't I realize until now that I was taking a drastic change.

At least mom has been here a few times for some 'work related' issues. I had never been out of the country especially in a completely different continent. I was in Africa, was I going to be poor since I was now in Africa?

"Welcome to South Africa, Cape Town. The local time is 14 : 47 and we hope you had great flight with us today," a voice says, piercing through my thoughts and jolting me back to reality.

"We have landed," here we go again, my unofficial and unnecessary translator called 'mom' was at it again. We both loosened out seat belts and I stop up from my seat and let out a large yawn, stretching my arms after that long flight.

Mom checked her phone for a second before also getting up from her seat as well. We grabbed our stuff and walked out of the plane where the people were moving quickly and flights attendants thanking and saying goodbye to everyone.

Breath in, inhale the air of Cape Town - okay, that was a bit dramatic.

"Come on let's go," she urges, seeing me just standing and looking around the airport. What is it called? Cape Town Airways?

"Nice flight?" Vivian, my mom's very 'trustworthy' assistant, asks marking the fact that she was actually next to me.

"Very peaceful without you, Vivian," I say in response then rolled my eyes at her because whenever I see her face, I just remember how annoying and bossy she could be. This Vivian thought she was my second mother.

After waiting for about an hour for mom, with Vivian, to finish whatever thing she was doing, we all left the airport, together and with our suitcases and mom with her purse.

Of course the airport was crowded but I didn't really feel like an outcast in this foreign country. I even saw families hugging each other tearfully, business officials wearing formal clothes and with their assistants like mom.

"I've already informed Mr Finn that we have landed and he said our ride will be here, shortly," Vivian informs us - mom - and making mom smile.

"Oh thank you Vivian, why don't we go grab something to eat in the meantime? I'm sure this monkey is hungry," mom teased and I glare at her.

I shake my head, "Seriously?"

"Sure, let's get this monkey something to eat!" Vivian pinches my cheek and even though it didn't hurt, I pissed because she was making fun of me.

"Ha ha ha, very funny Vivian," I deadpan.

Mom chuckles, "What do I have to do to get you to call Vivian in a very respectful manner because as far as I remember, she is ten years older than you."

"Thank you, Charl," Vivian says in agreement and I just roll my eyes.

"You call mom by her name and she's 20 years older than you," I say pointing out facts.

"Point of correction young lady, I want her to call me by my name, I asked her to," Mom says and feeling defeated, I rolled my eyes once again.

"Where are we going? I'm sure there are restaurants inside the airport," I say, pausing.

"No, we want to go to this restaurant, Steers restaurant," Mom says and I shook my head.

"Nice, I'm craving for some burger," Vivian adds.

"You are going to get fat, I'm telling you," I say then we walk into the 'Steers' restaurant and quickly find a table.

It wasn't long before a waitress attended to us, greeted us in a very formal way and handed the menus at us. I realize how hungry I was after the waitress who introduced herself as Jada, handed us the menus.

"Hmm, I think I will order this one, a Big Bacon burger. It looks delicious," I say.

"Whatever you want," Mom says.

"And a vanilla milkshake," I add.

"Umm, why are you telling us all of this? We are not the waitresses and we ain't going to take you order," Vivian says.

I roll my eyes, "I was not talking to you."

Then mom called the waitress using hand gestures and she was here.

"Are you ready to order?" she asks, politely. The South African accent is nice.

"Yes, I will have the Big Bacon with large fries and a vanilla milkshake," I order first as she wrote down what I just said. I was a big eater.

"Excellent choice," she says.

"We both will have the Chicken Bacon and Cheese burger and for me with a Large lemonade and no fries," Mom orders.

"Add fries for me and a chocolate milkshake," Vivian adds.

"Okay, your food will be ready shortly. I will bring the drinks in the meantime," she says, taking the menus and walking away.

"You both are unbelievable, are you really that hungry?" Mom asks and we both nod at the same time.

After a minute, our drinks were brought to us.

"Thank you," Mom says to Jada before she left after nodding.

"Chocolate milkshake is the worst," I comment.

"Way better than the Vanilla milkshake, it makes me want to throw up with how disgusting it is," Vivian adds.

"You both just stop it," Mom orders.

Then Vivian received a text from Mr Finn, probably his assistant, saying that the our ride had arrived at the airport and couldn't find us anywhere. Vivian told him where we were at and honestly, we all didn't expect it to be so fast.

"Why don't we grab some to-go?" Mom suggests and we both nodded.

I welcome myself to Cape Town.
