Mary and Aaliyah are in Aaliyah's quiet lounge that is located in her dormitory. They have been partners and friends recently a week before. Aaliyah is jealous of Mary's hair, somehow after been washed it bounces back into a big afro. Aaliyah tried that once and it had looked like a bird's nest, she would rather die than let Benedict find out about that incident.
"Yeah, it's due like in a month so we can create a spreadsheet of who gets who...my boyfriend can drop us after his practice and-"
"Wait you have a boyfriend now? Is it the guy you and Sammy where talking about?" Mary asks dropping her Ipad on the table
"Yeah...I told him I liked him but knowing him...he's going to make this girlfriend thing...like a marriage proposal. He will have a big bouquet and a big plushie..." Aaliyah chuckles
"That is how it should be done you know...Simon did that for me for homecoming...I couldn't go to prom because I was a junior and I thought, hey maybe he'll ask me out when I'm a senior and...you know...things" Mary says playing with her straw in her sonic fast food cup
"Oh....I'm sorry to hear that...oh by the way...um...I don't know if Sammy or Benny were telling me a lie but I remember getting a text from Sammy that she was going to be dropped off by Simon and that he was going to visit Benny....and Benny said the same thing when he dropped me off at class...."
"What? I'm sorry...Simon is what...oh my gosh I need to leave...I blocked his number and his social and it would be awkward seeing the man I used to kiss pull in my college because I know people who knows him...how far is Sammy...maybe I can run to my dorm and we can talk maybe later tonight...yeah I need to go-" Mary says packing up her stuff in a hurry and soon opening the quiet lounge door
"Mary?"
Aaliyah comes out to see Mary's shocked face, and then at the blonde man who was beside Sammy, holding her suit on her arm.
"Um...Mr Hale...what are you doing here?" Aaliyah asks
"I was dropping off my employee and wanted to hang out with my younger brother...I heard he's your boyfriend...so..." Simon says before looking at Mary who is clenching her bag to herself looking away from him. "How have you been?"
Mary doesn't say anything and hugs Aaliyah "I'll see you later...send me my list of what to buy...I'll talk to you tomorrow" Mary says walking away and bumping into Simon without stopping
"Um...it was nice seeing you and Ms Sato...tell Benedict that I'll drop by his practice soon...I need to leave" Simon says as he follows Mary who is speed walking to the elevator leaving Aaliyah and Sammy to look at each other
"So...how was work..."
"It was good...I'm going to change out of my clothes" Sammy says walking to their dorm and unlocking the door as Aaliyah packs her bag and enters the room with Sammy but still worried about Mary and Simon, especially how Mary had looked at Simon
Mary taps the down button multiple time, trying to get the elevator to come in a hurry "Where are you? Why are you so slow today?" She says to herself
"You still talk to yourself?" Simon says standing beside her
"I don't know you"
"Mary..."
"I said I don't know you...what do you want from me" Mary yells looking back at Simon, noticing his sad face
"I haven't seen you since graduation..." Simon says sighing trying to hold Mary's hand but Mary swatted his hand before the elevator makes a noise of its approach
"Thankfully" Mary says entering the elevator and walking to the corner
"I need to talk to you...how have you been...how is college and-"
"Can we not talk like we know each over...I'm just an ex...a mere girl in your past, so you don't need to try to talk to me you know" Mary says glaring at him
"I know...I know but I really want to talk to you, to reconnect with you and see how well you are doing...we ended things in tears and...till this day I feel sad"
"Why don't you get it?! I said no!"
"But-"
Mary stops looking at Simon with a sad face "I loved you and you loved me....we broke up this June and never got in contact....please don't talk to me...don't look at me...don't contact me" Mary says as the elevator door opens to the lobby floor and leaving Simon speechless as other student fill in the elevator.
"You think those two are okay?" Sammy asks as she fixes her hair after changing from her work clothes
Aaliyah shrugs "Probably not...I mean Mary was trying her best to leave the building when I told her that Simon was here with you and he was going to spend time with Benny...seems like their break up ended in bad term...I should call her just to make sure" Aaliyah finishes as she dials Mary's number however it doesn't go through "Should we check up on her?"
"Nah...I'm sure Mary wants to be alone...since her ex just randomly came up to her university...maybe she's going to stress eat or something but I'm sure she will be fine" Sammy replies saying on the bed and scrolling on her phone
"So how are you and your boyfriend? Got any cats that want to fight you yet?" Sammy asks
"We haven't made it public yet...he thinks that I will be uncomfortable with all the things that will happen after that...so he's waiting till the end of October to like formally introduce me as his girlfriend to his teammates and you know...I like just kissing in private" Aaliyah replies
"Cause you reminds you of high school kissing by the lockers hm?"
"No-...yes...maybe?" Aaliyah replies as Sammy squeals
"You two are so cute"
