Chapter Twelve

Agatha woke up, the cool fabric of the blankets around her making her more comfortable than she'd ever woken up before. She cracked her eyes open, letting the soft light into her retinas. She blinked her eyes as she opened them more, not sure if what she was seeing was real.

Vines covered the walls, many of them containing blooming flowers of many different colors. Even the door was covered.

Agatha turned over underneath the covers, finding that Rio was asleep next to her, laying on her stomach underneath the blankets, one of her legs sticking out of the covers.

Agatha smiled, remembering the events of the night before. But had Rio not gotten up to do work?

Agatha gently caressed the side of Rio's face, making her stir.

"Mmmmm," Rio groaned, not opening her eyes. "What time is it? Oh no!" At the last sentence, she quickly raised her head, her eyes snapping open. "I wasn't supposed to fall asleep! I'm late!"

"Good morning to you too." Agatha smiled, unable to remain serious at Rio's distress, because, well, she was just too cute when panicking.

Rio jumped up, using her magic to summon her clothes and quickly putting them on. "Sorry, love, I have to go."

"I know," Agatha replied as Rio finished pulling on her shirt and leaned over to Agatha, giving her a kiss. Agatha knew every second counted in Rio's job, but she couldn't help but prolong the kiss. Rio let her.

"Okay, I'm leaving now. I'll be back as soon as I can," Rio said, finally pulling back. "Then we can figure out how this is going to work."

"Perfect," Agatha answered as Rio started walking away, turning and smiling at Agatha before turning to walk out the door.

"Oh," Rio said. She paused for a second, finally realizing the vines were there, but then waved her hand and the vines receded from the doorway. "Okay, now I'm leaving." She walked out, leaving Agatha's sight.

"See you soon, my lady!" She called, making Agatha's heart flutter, right before Agatha heard the door open and shut.

She was alone again, but, unlike thirty years ago, she didn't actually feel alone.

This chapter was a short one, just to establish some peace and comfort. To give you something happy to read.

Before something else happens. Mwahahaha! No, I'm joking. Maybe.

I'm saving what happened the night before for a special chapter later on. Let's say... if I get at least seven comments by separate people asking for it then I'll publish it. And yes, I already have it written.

Have a wonderful 24 hours!
