she walked calmly towards the event.

at the time she had signed up for the volunteering event she had been walking to, she was thrilled to finally volunteer for something for her new job she had applied to over the summer.

she met with her friends and some coworkers at said event as she chatted with them, until a tall black woman who was accompanied by a short, tan-skinned man and a tall and lanky white man walked up to them explaining how the event would go.

her eyes never lingered any longer than they had to on anyone. she walked up to her coworker, cher, who she wasn't exactly friends with but she had no one else she knew in the place.

they chatted up as they worked and helped out during the event, suddenly they stood in line to try out some of the food being served at the event.

as that catched up, the tall man from before slowly glanced back at their conversation before butting in.

slowly incorporating himself onto the two women's conversation.

he was a slightly tan, which she could tell was from the summer days because otherwise he'd be quite pale, tall and lanky with longer dark wood ish hair. he wasn't exactly conventionally attractive, yet it might've of just been his bright blue eyes staring into hers, and his large smile that made her stomach feel just a bit.. odd.

he sat down to scarf down his food as she started at him from afar, she leaned over to whisper over into cher's ear how she found him quite handsome and intriguing, before said coworker looked at her with some sort of disgust.

as the event slowly but surely wrapped up quietly, some leaving before others, including him.

he slowly approached muttering a soft-spoken goodbye, as she looked up from whatever she was doing, she smiled the cutest smile she could and waved happily his way, only to see if she had any effect on him, yet his face never truly faltered at the action she thought were pretty darn cute.

as she watched him walk away she muttered to herself about how bad she truly wanted to get to know him and perhaps take it a bit farther than that..
