Wednesday's have never been Sheila's favorite. They're definitely better than a Monday, but that doesn't make them good. For some reason they remind her of gloomy days and cold rain.
Today, she feels like she needs a break from the metaphorical rain.
When she gets home from class she doesn't even bother to put her things away correctly, just shoves them on her desk chair and puts her sweats back on. She sits on her bed and considers taking a nap when she gets a call from Harry.
She doesn't even let it ring twice before she answers.
"Hey Shell," Harry greets.
"Hey Harry. How are you?" She asks.
"I'm good. I actually have a question for you," he replies.
"Okay go for it," she says as she sinks into her bed, pulling her covers up to her chin.
They've only been together a couple of days, but despite that she already knows Harry much prefers calls to texting. He's called her when he's walking home from lectures and she called him in between classes to ask how his day has been. They text too, but it's nice to hear his voice.
It's still so new, but it's easier than she thought it would be. Right now it feels like they're finding ways to fit each other into their lives and she really treasures the little moments they find for each other.
"Would you like to have breakfast with me tomorrow?" He asks. "I was thinking that maybe we could meet at my office. As long as you bring your history books with you it should be fine if you're up for it."
"Yeah, I don't see why not," she agrees.
She's interested to see what that will be like. She knows Harry shares an office with another teacher so it's not like they'll really be able to be together, but she supposes it'll be nice all the same. This might just be one of the ways they make time for each other even if it isn't necessarily ideal.
"Okay great. I want to see you, but my house is a mess right now," he says.
"Harry, I don't care about things like that. As long as you're not growing mold or creating a fire hazard I couldn't care less," she replies.
"That's sweet," he coos, "You want to keep me safe."
"Of course I do," she says honestly.
"Thank you. I'm just really behind on doing wash, but I am definitely safe," he replies.
"Okay good. So what can I bring?" She asks.
"Just your wonderful self," he replies cheesily.
Sheila chuckles and replies, "I can do that, but I think now is a good time to warn you I'm not a morning person."
"Okay, well we can just stare at each other then," he teases, "Not talk or anything."
"Oh perfect I'm so relieved," she says sassily and rolls her eyes, despite him not being able to see her. "No, I just mean that I might not be quite the same. I can be quieter and more shy."
"Softer," he says fondly.
"Yeah, just warning you in case it's different or something," she says back quietly.
"I like you exactly how you are, however you are," he reassures her. "If you're grumpy that's okay too, it happens. I just want to spend time with you."
"You're so sweet H. I don't even know what to do with you," she says.
"Hm, I could say the same. See you in the morning?" He asks.
