<Raven's POV>
I'm skipping school today.
Not because I want to be a badass, but because I am busy. Yes, I'm actually busy.
Yesterday night, I broke up with Cameron.
Yes, I mean Cameron Dallas, the guy that I have been dating for months. You may be wondering why would I do this?
I did it because I was tired of hiding our relationship, and he felt the same way. Sure, I was sad, but I was also relieved. I didn't have anything to hide anymore. When it happened I didn't cry, I didn't lock myself in my room, and I didn't eat a tub of icecream and I certainly wasn't heartbroken.
Cameron and I had loved eachother, but we both decided it just didn't work out. Neither of us were extremely upset, even though we had loved each other.
It was okay; I was okay.
Now Cameron and I could be friends and not have to hide anything. I know this sounds really weird, but it's just the way I felt.
As my alarm clock rang loudly this morning, I felt happy. For the first time in three years, I got up right away, and opened my curtains to let sunlight in. Even though it was only 5:45am, I felt very much awake and refreshed. And happy.
After getting ready for the day, I looked in the mirror. I couldn't believe what I was about to do, but I was so excited.
I wonder what Beth would think about all this? I bet she'll be really excited. I watched her videos last night, and I was very inspired. I just can't wait.
After looking in the mirror one last time, I grabbed my keys, and wallet. I still can't believe what I was about to do.
The first place I stopped was the hairstylist. This was going to take the longest, so I decided to do this first.
"Hi, my name is Victoria, and I'm going to be you're hairstylist for today!" Said a young woman with medium length blonde hair.
"Hello." I say quietly.
"Alright, so go ahead and take a seat!" She says, and I sit in the little barber chair. "Okay, so what exactly are you wanting to do with your hair? It's lovely by the way!" Victoria said, cheerfully.
"Well, thank you, I'd like to get it cut a little bit below my shoulders, please." I say, taking a deep breath. My hair was extremely long, and went down to the curve in my back. I was going to get it cut about 5 inches.
"I'm sure that will look gorgeous!" Victoria says, as she begins to comb my hair. "So is that all you're going to want done with you're hair today?"
"Well, not exactly."

I was currently in the car on my way back home. It was 3:45, and everyone should be home from school by now.
After going to the hairstylist to get my hair done, I had gone to the mall. I was currently wearing my new dress, and flats that I had bought today. I had gone to Mac, and had my makeup done by a professional, and she had taught me how to do my makeup like a pro.
I kept glancing at myself in the mirror every few seconds. I couldn't believe what I had done, and how different I looked. I felt beautiful again.
I stopped the car in my driveway, and went inside my house. Luckily, my parents weren't home from work yet, otherwise they would be buzzing around me like bees. I first went up to my room, and set down all thirteen of my shopping bags. That's right, thirteen.
Next, I got out my phone and texted Matt, Bethany, and yes my new friend Cameron.
"Hey guys, I want to show you something. It will be quick, I promise, so can you meet me at Starbucks in fifteen minutes?"
I clicked send, and almost immediately Matt responds.
"Um, Starbucks? I know you don't hate that place, but I know it's not your favorite. Don't you want to meet somewhere else?"
Wow, he knows me well. Well, actually he knew me well.
"No I'm sure."
Then Beth responds:
"I'm excited to see what's up! Does this have anything to do with the reason why you skipped school?"
Beth asks, and moments later Cameron responds with:
"Yeah, what Beth said!"
I smile.
"You'll see! Just be there! I'm leaving now!"
I can't wait to see their faces.

I make sure I'm fashionably late, and then park my car. I see in the window Matt, Cameron and Beth talking, but they don't see me.
I grab my phone, and I open the door. I look over to their table, and they still don't notice me.
My heart starts beating rapidly as I walk towards them, anxious to see what they will say. I pull out the open chair, and they all give me confused looks.
They don't recognize me.
"Hey, I'm sorry, but that chair is for someone else!" Beth says, giving me an apologetic smile.
"Well, think again." I say, grinning.
Beth looks at me, extremely confused. I look over to Matt, and he's studying my face. Maybe he caught on? Then there's Cameron who's jaw has dropped and he sits there speechless.
"Oh, close your mouth, Cameron!" I say, laughing and rolling my eyes.
"Wait, you know Cameron? Are you a fan?" Beth asks.
Suddenly, Matt makes a chocking sound and he starts pointing at me, shocked.
"It's you!" He says, not believing it.
"It's who Matt? What's going on? I'm really confus- oh my god." Beth says, finally realizing it.
"Oh my god!" She squeals, this time excited, and not shocked. "Raven! Your hair! And your outfit! And makeup! You're beautiful!" She says, standing up to hug me.
I smiled, and played with my new blonde hair. I notice Matt looking at my pink dress, and Cameron is just still speechless.
"Wait! That dress is from my clothing line!" Bethany says loudly, and other people around us notice.
"Yeah, it is!" I say.
I'm so happy. I've gone from my all black style, to a medium blonde hair with brown lowlights. It's curled lightly, making it look shiny and smooth. My new pink dress is from Bethany's clothing line, and so is my pink flower crown. My tan flats are from JC penny. I ditched my nose and lip ring, and went for a tiny white stud on my nose instead. My makeup was a white shimmery eyeshadow, and winged liner. I was also wearing some hot pink lipstick.
"Raven, you look great!" Matt says, smiling.
"You really do, honestly you do." Says Cameron, finally able to speak.
"I love your new style, Raven." Beth says.
"Please," I say, "call me Shelby. It's my real name."
Holy crap this chapter was a lot to take in! In case you didn't realize what happened here it is.
So basically Raven broke up with Cameron at the beginning of the chapter. While Raven is a tiny bit sad, she decided to watch Bethany's videos. She becomes inspired and decides it's time for her to get a makeover.
Raven is now no longer the all black girl introduced at the beginning of the book, she is now instead Shelby Church.
Now some of you know that Shelby Church is a youtuber, right? Well let's just say that is a detail for another chapter :p
Okay I hope you're not super confused lol bye.
