Katie. Right now my exoctic looking best friend was the only thing on my mind. Katie, sweet innocent, loving little Katie, standing in a skimpy cocktail dress, face to face with a vampire. A blood thirsty, cold hearted vampire. I held my breath, watching the sence play out before me, hoping that we could act out before he could kill her.
"Red looks real good on you." Vance, the vampire in question, purred, running his hand down her side. Katie shivered at the touch, her eyes closing. If you didn't know she was afraid you would have thought she liked the touch of the cold blooded killer. Beside me Leah Anne shifted her stance, eager for my signal to take him out. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Melody and Jasmine do the same. Neither comfertable with the our most innocent friend in the eyes of this killer. The rapest, killer.
"Thank you." Katie purred, the shiver in her voice only slightly audiable.
"I love the colour red, it's the colour of my favorite thing. Would you like to know what it is?" He asked, his hands skimming across her butt.
"Yes." She breathed. As she did I caught Mel's eye and nodded, knowing that the time to strick was soon. Soon we could save our friend, get her away from this man.
"Blood. Sweet, warm blood." He chuckled, enjoying the fact that her face drained of all colour. "I'll like to taste yours." He said before closing the small distance between him and her, also putting himself in line with stake.
"Too bad, you're going to die." I purred, jumping over the box Leah Anna and I were crouched behind and sank my stake in back, smiling at his wounded cry.
"No." He growled pushing Katie aside, his attention locked on me. His movments were slower due to the stake between his shoulders blades, an effect I wanted, counted apon.
"Now!" I cried, jumping in the air to grab the stake Mel threw at me. Before my feet touched the ground I slammed into his chest, watching with a smile as the life drained from his face. He let out one last growl before falling over, dead. Or for now at least.
"Grab the gasoline and quick. We only have a short window before he's back." I instructed Jasmine, who nodded before running to grab the three things of gasoline hidden behind the door of the warehouse we were hidden in.
"You okay Katie?" I asked, looking over at my pale best friend, her face hidden in behind Leah Anne's long dark brown hair.
"Shaken." She gasped.
"Good. I hated seeing you out there, faceing that, with no way to defend yourself." I sighed, trying hard not to think of the different ways this could have ended.
"I know, but I knew I was never in real danger." She said as she smiled out from behind Leah Anne's hair.
"Good, I'm glad you have faith in us." Jasmine giggled as she made her way back in the room the tanks in her hands and one under her arms.
"Great, glad your back, we have five minutes give or take before he starts to wake up." I muttered, grabbing one from her. "Pour two of them in the rooms on eaither side of this, I'll deal with covering him. Meet outfront in ten. We'll need to get our fast cause this place will blow." I instruted to four girls around me.
"I'll take Katie to the car. She can barely stand. Be careful." Leah Anne said as she helped Katie off the floor. The rest of us nodded before setting to work.
"Scream if he starts to wake." Jasmine said with a small smile as she and Melody headed out the door.
"Always." I promised, as I poured the gas over the body of the vampire at my feet.
Vampires. I mused as I looked down at the body, are soo far from the way books and movies make them out to be. In the movies the one in front of me would be considered dead, but in real life he's in what I like to call a fake death. In real life, the only to acutally kill a vampire so they stay dead, is to set one on fire. Hense the use of gasoline.
Once he was covered I headed out of the room, Jasmine and Melody walking up on eaither side of me. We said nothing as we walked from the warehouse, to the car parked maybe five feet away.
"It wont effect the forest around it will it?" Jasmine asked, her eyes scanning the surronding the forest.
"No. I called the fire department before we came, they should be hear soon, hense why we have to hurry. With anyluck he'll be a pile of ash before the show up." I answered, pausing long enough to light a match and throw it over my shoulder.
"Anyone for a lift" Leah Anne asked as the black Range Rover pulled up in front of us, Katie in the passenager seat, Leah Anne driving.
"Hit and run!" Jasmine giggled jumping into the back seat, Mel and I following suit. Or at least I was. Just as I was about to climb into the car. I saw someone standing in the line of trees along the warehouse.
Standing there, eyes locked on me, was a boy with curly hair and pale skin. Even from the ditance one thing stood clear.
The good looking boy with curly hair was a vampire.
