Don't want to face the truth: Chapter 3

The next morning, Poppy opened her eyes and found herself in her warm and comfortable bed. She turned around and saw Branch's picture on her desk next to the bed. She smiled at herself and said:

Poppy: "Morning Branch."

She sat up and grabbed the picture and smiled warmly at it. She didn't know what was going on but she didn't seem to realise that her desire to be with Branch every single minute of the day meant something. She got out of bed, got dressed and left her pod.When Poppy exited her pod, everyone in the village started greeting her. Poppy found her way to her friends, who were having breakfast.

Poppy: "Morning guys."

Biggie: "Morning Poppy."

DJ: "We were waiting for you."

Smidge: "We ordered pancakes."

Poppy: "Great choice."

Guy Diamond: "So, what happened yesterday?"

Poppy: "What do you mean?"

Guy Diamond: "When we left. What did you and Branch do?"

Poppy: "We cleaned everything up and went to bed."

Guy Diamond: "What that's all?"

Poppy: "What did you expect us to do?"

Cooper: "Kis-"

Smidge: "Shut it Cooper." She said while putting a cupcake into Cooper's mouth.

Branch: "Morning guys."

Guy Diamond: "Branch, my man. We were waiting for you. Come. Sit." Guy Diamond showed Branch a free seat that they have left for him next to Poppy. Branch took a seat next to Poppy and said:

Branch: "Morning."

Poppy slightly blushed and quietly said: "Morning."

Then, the waiter troll showed up with their pancakes. When everyone had their food, they all dug in. Meanwhile, Poppy and Branch wanted to add some syrup on their pancakes so they both reached for it. When, they both grabbed it at the same time they turned red and removed their hands from the others.

Branch: "Take it first."

Poppy: "No, you take it first."

???: "How about I take it?"

Biggie: "Who said that?"

???: "It wasssssssssssssssss me." Cloud guy revealed himself and hugged Branch.

Cloud guy: "Branch, buddy. I missed you."

Branch pushed Cloud guy away from him , throwing him onto Poppy. Poppy hugged Cloud guy and so did everyone else.

Cloud guy: "Sorry I didn't visit you guys I was busy with my marriage."

Poppy: "You got married? That's amazing!!!!!!"

Cloud guy: "Yeah it is. So what about you two? Did you tighten the knot yet?" He said while pointing his fingers towards Branch and Poppy. The snack pack gasped at Cloud guy's comment, while Poppy and Branch were shocked.

Poppy: "Uhhhhh???"

Branch: "We're not....."

Poppy: "We're not.....together."

Branch: "Yeah."

Cloud guy: "Oops. Sorry. Just a little misunderstanding. Don't mind me. I'm going to get some pancakes."

When Cloud guy left, Poppy and Branch couldn't exchange even one look. They ate as fast as they could and left.

Cooper: "Poppy and Branch sitting on a tree K-i-s-s-i-n-g."

All: "Cooper!!!!"

Once Poppy and Branch left the others behind at the restaurant, they headed towards Branch's bunker. Branch wrote his entry passcode and the door opened for them. They both went to the elevator and Branch reached for the lever. When they reached the ground, Poppy tried to light up the mood and she started dancing around the living room. Branch was staring at her and a smile formed on his face.

Poppy: "So.....what are we going to do today?"

Branch: "What do you want us to do?"

Poppy: 😏

Branch: "Don't say it."

Poppy: "Scrapbooking."

Branch signed at Poppy's proposal and Poppy noticed the disapprovement on his face. She didn't want to push it to the limit and make him feel uncomfortable, because then he wouldn't talk to her again and she couldn't accept that.

Poppy: "If you don't want to, we can do something else. What do you want us to do?"

Branch: "No, scrapbooking is fine."

Poppy: "Are you sure?"

Branch: "Of course. But, I don't have any utensils."

Poppy: "That's why I'm always......."she said while taking out of her hair all the utensils they needed. ".....crazy prepared." Branch slightly laughed at her comment and they got down to business.

Branch was terrible at Scrapbooking, but with Poppy's help he was getting better at it. Glitter was covering both of them and Branch cut himself with the scissors.

Poppy: "How did you do that, you silly?"

Branch: "I don't know."

Poppy: "Wait. I'll bring you a napkin."

Poppy went to the kitchen and grabbed a napkin. She sat beside Branch and cleaned up Branch's wound. Branch was staring at her taking care of his hand and he started sweating and breathing heavily. Poppy noticed that Branch was kinda nervous and he let go of his hand.

Poppy: "See. Good as new." She said while kissing his hand where he cut himself.

Branch: "Thank you."

Poppy: "You're welcome. So.....are we going to stop?"

Branch: "No. It's not ready yet."

Poppy: "I know what it needs. Blue glitter, but I have lost mine for weeks now."

Branch: "You had left it here. I put it in a cupboard in case you needed it."

Poppy: "You kept it?"

Branch: "Of course. I knew that you would be mad at me if I had thrown it away."

Poppy: "I'm not mad at you for throwing away my cards."

Branch laughed nervously and led Poppy to his room where he had placed her glitter.

Branch: "Uhh....I had put it in a cupboard where I have some personal stuff, so....can you please turn around."

Poppy: "Sure." She said and turned around. Branch opened the cupboard where he had placed the glitter, along with the cards that Poppy had given him through the years, but unfortunately the cards fell off the cupboard making them star singing.

Poppy: "That sounds like....." She said while turning her head around to face Branch. ".....my cards."
