At some point, we went back to the place where I last saw Martlet and Clover at. There were blue feathers scattered everywhere to which I tried to avoid looking at.
I still didn't know what happened to Martlet... I should really try asking him at some point.
We moved to some kind of dock and there, waited a lone boat. Perfect for moving on considering that there was nowhere else to go to in mind.
Clover moved to it without a second thought and I soon followed after. He waited for me to get in before he did and soon enough the boat went off sailing once the one latch that kept it there was tossed away.
The boat drifted away and we soon found ourselves in a new environment. It was.. gorgeous. I've never seen such a beautiful place.
The area's walls were a deep blue filled with different kinds of shades that the water and the flowers shone upon them, the place decorated with blue flowers that looked like they were glowing. I've never seen those flowers before.. I wonder if that's a flower that you could only see in the underground.
The water below was a whole different breed compared to the water just before the area. It was the same color as the flower that was all over the place. It's so clean that I could practically see my reflection, despite that I still couldn't see the bottom of the lake. The bright cyan waters glowing brightly, so bright that it was probably what was lighting up the whole place.
The silence was a lot more comforting compared to before where it felt wrong and held a sense of dread. I actually felt myself relaxing throughout the scenery.
Unfortunately that silence was soon broken by the voice of my companion. Oh well.. It was nice while it still lasted. "So... How did you fall here in the underground?"
I snapped out of my daze and looked back at Clover who was giving me a questioning look. "...Well. It's a bit of a silly story but I was just hiking out with my friend. While we were camping, I thought I had seen someone enter the entrance of the cave by the corner of my eye so I followed them. There was no one however. So I tried to go back until some stupid vine made me fall backwards and.. here I am. "
I had a bit of an irritated look when I mentioned I tripped on a vine, recalling how it made me fall into a hole twice but then again, if I saw that second vine I would have probably not met Clover.
"What about you? I haven't heard your story yet so what's yours?" I turned the question back to Clover.
"I came here willingly with a mission." "A mission?" I questioned with the silent question of what. "To find the missing children that ventured in this very same mountain and deliver justice."
"Does delivering justice cost the lost lives of several monsters?" I bluntly asked to which they simply responded back with, "How'd you know?" sarcasm.
"What if you're killing them for no reason and there's a chance that they're still alive but just in hiding?" Clover shook his head. "As much as I'd like to believe that. It's very unlikely. You've already seen how those monsters acted towards us. That bird monster you saw is just one monster, they won't be all nice and dandy as you're implying they are. They're trying to kill us."
