When I woke up, I found myself back in my own bedroom, with a blanket draped over my body. Did Raiden carry me back here?

He probably did. Who else could have?

My memories of last night were fuzzy, and I must have fallen into a deep sleep before waking up this morning. The last thing I remembered was that Raiden had made me come as part of his punishment... and my body was still feeling the effects of it.

Twenty-five more days with Raiden in this penthouse. That was the first thought that crossed my mind when I woke up. I didn't bother putting up a calendar to mark off the days since I could count them down in my head until these thirty torturous days ran out, and I could return to my normal life.

I showered, dressed in casual clothes, and left my bedroom. This had become my morning routine since moving into this penthouse. As usual, I didn't expect to see Raiden today. I thought that, just like on other days, he would be out and avoid any contact with me. However, it seemed that today Raiden had other plans, as he sat at the dining table eating chocolate cake and sipping tea from a blue-and-white porcelain teacup.

Chocolate cake and tea didn't suit the image I had of him at all. He seemed so at peace, completely unlike his drunken self from the previous night. I watched him silently, feeling my face heat up as I remembered what he did to me last night...

Sure, I broke the rule, but it wasn't intentional. It was an emergency, and I did it for his own good. What he did was clearly wrong, and I could still feel his touch lingering on my skin even after a long, hot shower.

Unlike before, I now knew that he wasn't drunk and that he remembered everything that transpired between us when I entered his room, including what happened last night. I hated the fact that we were living together because it meant I had no place to hide, not that I could hide from him forever.

However, that didn't make facing him this morning any easier. I still didn't know what to say to him or how to act. Raiden's presence disturbed me, making me feel insecure and anxious whenever he was around.

Putting on a brave face, I stepped out of where I'd been lingering and approached the dining table where Raiden was seated.

We're supposed to live separately, and I wholeheartedly agreed with that. But I had to keep my part of the deal. I had to do something for Raiden today, and simply cooking breakfast and leaving it on the table was no longer an option. What should I do for him?

"Well, good morning, Miss Ivelle. Would you care for some cake and tea?" Auntie asked cheerfully when she saw me sit down across from Raiden at the dining table.

Raiden, on the other hand, continued to focus on his tea and the phone in his hand, as if I didn't even exist in his universe. I rolled my eyes in annoyance, though I was sure he didn't notice.

"I'll just have tea, thank you," I replied with a polite smile to Auntie.

"Eating cake seems to cure Master Raiden's hangovers and puts him in a better mood," Auntie chimed happily as she poured tea for both Raiden and me.

I took a sip of the tea Auntie had poured, surprised by the fruity aroma. So, Raiden drank the same tea? Sweet cake and fruity tea just didn't match his ultra-intense and overbearing image.

I watched Raiden over the rim of my teacup as I sipped. He wore a simple white shirt with only a few buttons fastened, revealing his well-toned chest muscles, and a pair of light blue jeans. His light blond hair was still damp, making it appear darker than usual, and was combed back roughly. His blue eyes were focused on his phone screen.

"What are you staring at? Enjoying the view?" he spoke up suddenly, causing me to gasp before I could stop myself.

Raiden didn't even look at me; his eyes were still glued to his phone as he typed away with his thumb.

"I wasn't...staring," I mumbled softly.

"Oh, really? Not that it matters," Raiden replied, unfazed.

He went back to ignoring me, sighing as he typed faster, his brows knitting together. Soon, his phone started vibrating, and he cursed under his breath before answering the call.

"I told you I'm not going..." Raiden said loudly.

Clearly, he didn't care if I overheard. Although I had no idea what he was talking about or who he was speaking with.

"Forget it...it doesn't matter to me. I'm not going," Raiden snapped, his brows furrowing in annoyance.

After a while of what sounded like convincing from the other end, Raiden heaved a loud sigh, running his fingers through his blond hair. He looked bored, annoyed, and at his wit's end.

Whoever was on the other end of the line was likely pestering him to do something he didn't want to or to go somewhere he didn't care to go.

"Fine. I guess I owe you from before...I'll get you out of this one..." Raiden finally said in defeat, letting out a frustrated sigh.
