I woke up to the sound of my alarm which is strange because James usually wakes me up before my alarm could even ring. I'm guessing he's still giving me the silent treatment.
How long is he going to keep this up? We've fought before just like any other friends would and we would get over it within seconds but this time it felt different.
As I walk towards the living room and kitchen, I could tell every thing was in its place. He didn't even make breakfast which is odd because James NEVER leaves without eating breakfast. Did he over slept? I walked towards his room.
"James?!" I said knocking on his door.
No answer. I opened his door to find his room empty.
"That little bastard! He left without me!"

I made it just in time for history. The professor wasn't even there yet, which is a good thing.
"Hey are you ok?!" Kaleb said all worried.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said puzzled.
"Are you sure?! You look upset."
"Yeah I'm ok." I said reassuring him.
"Alright class today we're going to start the war projects. You'll be making a PowerPoint over a famous war. You're going to do some research over the casualties, people who fought in the war, and important dates etc. Every thing you need to know is in this handout. You can either do the project in pairs or solo." Mr. Williams told the class while passing out the handouts.
Mr. Williams is my favorite professor. He's really tall, skinny, with short brown hair, in his mid forties I would say. He always wears a button up shirt with khakis. He makes history so much fun. I'm not saying it because history is my favorite subject but by the way he teaches it is really entertaing. Not like other boring history teachers I've had before.
"Partners?!" Kaleb asked me.
"You read my mind!"
"Together we make a great team!" He said tapping my nose.
"We're the power team to be reckon with!"
Kaleb and I are huge history nerds. We have the highest grade in our class.
"World War II" we both said in unison.
"World War II it is!" I said laughing.
*Later that day*
Kaleb was waiting for me outside of my business administration class.
"Are you walking me to my car?!" I told him in my girly voice.
"Your car?! I was hoping I could give you a ride to work. Didn't James drop you off?" Kaleb looked at me confuse.
"No, not today."
"That explains your one minute tardiness in history." He said laughing.
"Hey it was one minute and besides Mr. Williams was late as well!" I said sticking out my tongue at him.
He gave me that cute smile that makes my heart melt. Then he looked down at the ground.
"Did you and James get in a fight because of me?! Is that why you were upset this morning?" He said trying to read the expression on my face.
No!! It has nothing to do with you. Why would you think that?"
"I get the feeling James doesn't like me that much."
"It's nothing like that. James is just being overprotective. And to answer your question, yes, James and I had an argument. But it has nothing to do with you. It's just one of those stupid fights friends have."
"What a relief!! I would feel terrible if I was the reason why you guys are fighting. I don't want to mess up the friendship you guys have. I can tell how close the both of you are and how important it is."
"You have nothing to worry about! We'll eventually get over it." I hoped.
"I really hope you and James work things out. I don't like seeing you upset and I miss your beautiful smile."
Right at that moment I felt butterflies in my stomach. My heart started beating fast. I felt like a school girl experiencing her first crush. I couldn't help but smile.
"I knew I could get a smile out of you!" He said smiling.
I smiled back.
"Well I guess this is my cue." Kaleb said as we reached my black Mustang. "If you and James haven't worked it out, give me a call in the morning. I'll swing by and give you a ride to school."
"Thanks! I'll let you know."
He smiled and was starting to walk away.
"Hey Kaleb! You're a great friend. I really appreciate every thing you do for me." I said reaching out for his hand.
"No problem, thats what friends are for!" He gave me that cute smile that I love so much.
"Thanks!" I smiled back.
"I'll see you in the morning."
"Bye!" I waved.
Friends just friends. Why couldn't we be more than friends?
