Chapter 68: Heartless
Miao Jun, Song Yi, Song Yimo, and Zhai Muyang successively entered the vice dean's office.
Song Yi couldn't wait and asked, "Vice Dean Guo, when can the surgery be performed?"
Guo Chao glanced at her indifferently and handed her a piece of paper, "According to the hospital's requirements, please sign your name on this."
Song Yi took a look and her face instantly turned unsightly, "Vice Dean Guo, this requirement is not reasonable."
"You can point out the unreasonable parts, and we can discuss them."
Song Yi wanted to say it was all unreasonable, but she hesitated because this person was her son's attending doctor and didn't want to offend him too much.
After looking at it again, Song Yi's voice contained some requests, "Vice Dean Guo, Yimo has already agreed; isn't this statement unnecessary?"
"Signing it won't affect you in any way. Or does Mrs. Song have other thoughts in mind?"
As he spoke, Guo Chao took the paper from her and handed it to Miao Jun.
Miao Jun lowered his head to read the statement.
"The statement reads: We hereby declare that, considering that Mrs. Song Yi has not raised her daughter Song Yimo for many years. Without informing her daughter of the potential risks during the surgery, she signed the consent on her behalf as a mother. Once the hospital was informed of this, they immediately consulted with Mrs. Song Yi, who still insisted. Since the patient has been admitted, the hospital has to proceed with the surgery, and the hospital bears no responsibility for any consequences."
The hospital's seal followed.
Miao Jun felt uncomfortable reading the last sentence as the hospital was always prone to shifting blame. However, seeing that the previous words were clearly written, he endured it.
He picked up the statement and silently pushed it towards Song Yi.
Song Yi picked up the pen and, before signing, turned to look at her daughter.
However, Song Yimo did not look at her. She knew the outcome long ago and had already accepted reality; she no longer harbored any hope for Song Yi.
Zhai Muyang held her cold, damp hand, his brows furrowed, as he half embraced her, asking, "If you don't want to, we won't proceed."
Song Yi was shocked and quickly signed, fearing that Song Yimo might regret it. This uncharacteristic behavior of Song Yi left Guo Chao astonished, and he couldn't help but remark, "Mrs. Song, I've never seen anyone like you."
Song Yi's face kept changing color, and she dared not look at her daughter again.
Zhai Muyang cast a disdainful glance at Song Yi and comforted Song Yimo gently, "It's okay. If you don't agree, we'll leave immediately."
"I'll be clear after doing this. Song Yi, remember what you promised me. Don't appear in front of me again in the future."
Song Yimo stood up with her brother and left. Shen Zhuo had already been taken to the operating room, and she had no intention of regretting at this moment. She just remembered the pain she had experienced before and felt a little scared.
Not everyone reacts the same way to this situation.
She almost had a reaction right after the injection of doping for three days, experiencing pain continuously.
The blood separation was painful too.
But it's okay. She had gone through it once by herself and had to go back pretending everything was fine to not worry her grandma.
