The ballroom was buzzing with energy, laughter, and the faint strains of a song from a decade ago. Fairy lights twinkled from above, casting a warm glow over the scene.

It was the high school reunion, a night that had taken years to arrive, where former classmates gathered, shedding years of distance, different paths, and changed lives. It felt surreal seeing faces from a time so long ago.

Taehyung walked into the ballroom, trying not to let his nervousness show. He hadn't planned on coming to the reunion initially, but curiosity and a touch of nostalgia had finally won him over. His gaze sweeping across the crowd of familiar faces, each sparking memories from a past life. And then he saw him.

Jungkook stood by the far side of the room, talking and laughing with a group of old friends. Time had changed him, but Taehyung recognized him instantly. The sight brought a bittersweet pang to his chest.

They had been inseparable once, the high school sweethearts who everyone assumed would make it forever. But life had other plans, and they had gone their separate ways before graduation, losing touch in the years that followed.

As if sensing his gaze, Jungkook looked up and their eyes met across the room. For a moment, the chatter and music faded into the background, and it was just the two of them, staring at each other like no time had passed.

The crowd around them seemed to fade into a blur as Taehyung's gaze settled on Jungkook, his heart thundering with a mixture of surprise and something deeper something that had laid dormant for years.

He hadn't expected Jungkook to change so much, hadn't prepared himself to see the boy he'd once loved transformed into someone so striking, so self-assured.

The Jungkook he remembered was a little shy, a little awkward, with messy hair and oversized hoodies. But the man standing before him now looked like he belonged in a magazine confident, poised, his black suit perfectly tailored, his blonde hair swept back stylishly. He was beautiful in a way that felt almost intimidating. Taehyung couldn't look away, his eyes trailing over Jungkook as memories flashed through his mind.

But now, all he could think of was the distance that had grown between them, the years that had passed since they were those carefree high school kids. He wondered if Jungkook remembered, if he felt even a fraction of what Taehyung was feeling at that moment.

Lost in his thoughts, Taehyung didn't realize how intensely he was staring until Jungkook shifted uncomfortably, his cheeks turning the faintest shade of pink. Jungkook's confident posture wavered, and he quickly looked away, unable to maintain eye contact. His fingers fidgeted with his drink, the cool confidence slipping away for just a moment, showing a glimpse of the Jungkook Taehyung remembered.
