Tw: Blood, mentions of throwing up

---------

Jake sat in the practice room, surrounded by the echoes of his members' laughter and the beats of their latest song.

He watched as Sunghoon practiced a particularly hard dance move, his concentration evident as he nailed the choreography.

“Jake! You’re up next!” Heeseung called out, breaking Jake from his thoughts.

The adrenaline from the impending performance surged through him, but it was quickly eclipsed by an unexpected wave of nausea.

“Yeah, just a sec!” Jake replied, forcing a smile. He stood, his legs feeling heavier with each step.

As he positioned himself for practice, he noticed a small shard of glass glittering on the floor.

“Careful, guys!” he warned, but his voice was drowned out by the music.

As he turned to warn Heeseung, he felt the glass dig into his foot. The sharp pain shot through him, and he instinctively jerked back, his breath hitching.

“Jake!” Sunoo shouted, rushing over. Jake looked down and saw blood seeping from the cut, his heart racing in tandem with the dread pooling in his stomach.

“Are you okay?” Sunghoon asked, concern etched on his face.

“Just a scratch,” Jake muttered, trying to shake off the panic rising in him. But as he watched the crimson droplets fall to the floor, a familiar, suffocating fear gripped him.

The others moved quickly. Heeseung knelt beside him, examining the cut. “We need to clean this up.”

“No! It’s fine!” Jake protested, the words spilling out in a desperate attempt to hide his escalating anxiety. He pulled his foot away, feeling the room spin slightly.

“Just let us help you,” Sunghoon urged, his voice soothing yet firm.

But Jake’s mind was racing, the sight of blood igniting memories he had long tried to suppress.

He recalled the countless times he had watched friends get injured, the way blood would pour and his body would freeze, paralyzed by fear.

“Please, I’m fine,” he insisted again, voice rising, the tremor betraying his composure.

“Jake, you’re not fine,” Heeseung said gently, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder. “We need to clean it, or it could get worse.”

The mere thought of the blood made Jake’s stomach churn. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block out the scene, but it was as if the world had narrowed down to that single drop of blood.

“Let’s get you to the bathroom,” Sunoo suggested. Jake nodded, though dread pooled in his chest.

With some help from Heeseung and Sunghoon, he managed to get to his feet. Each step felt like an eternity, and the closer they got to the bathroom, the more Jake’s breathing became shallow and erratic.

Once inside, Sunoo ran the tap and pulled out a first-aid kit. “Just breathe, okay? We’ve got you.”

But as Sunoo approached, holding a cotton ball drenched in antiseptic, Jake’s heart raced. “No! I can’t!” he cried, backing away against the sink. “I can’t!”
