A massive explosion shook the building, and the force of the blast threw Sonia against the wall. However, she didn't lose consciousness and immediately began to call out and search for her daughter:

'Sandra, where are you, Sandra?' Her voice got stuck in her throat due to the smoke, and she started coughing. Through the thick smoke, she saw two things: Sandra, a petite brown-haired girl, lay unconscious near the sofa, where they had just been drinking tea and talking about plans. And in the hole that used to be the door to her apartment, several figures appeared. They were masked and heavily armed men. There were four of them.

'Alpha team, secure the package, Beta team handle the problem,' one of them said. Sonia was stunned, but she knew that she was the issue and Sandra was the package. She would not allow it. She tensed her muscles and waited for the attackers to approach, preparing to strike

However, they were cautious; the first one who approached fired at her, and Sonia felt a Teflon net binding her entire body. Despite knowing, she couldn't free herself, she struggled fiercely.

'Don't squirm, it won't help,' the attacker said, leaning over her and spraying some gas in her face. Her eyes suddenly became heavy and she lost consciousness. She tried to fight it, but the substance had already entered her bloodstream. She felt herself quickly losing consciousness.

When she woke up, the apartment was empty. She quickly got to her feet, hopped to the kitchen, and from one of the drawers she pulled out a laser bone cutter, freed herself from the net, and ran to the terrace. Not much time could have passed, as dust from the explosion still hung in the air. She looked around for the attackers, still coughing.

She stepped onto the terrace and saw the masked figures six floors below loading her daughter into a large hoovercar and preparing to take off. As the vehicle began to rise, without much thought, she stood on the terrace railing, pushed off strongly, and jumped down. She hoped she had judged the distance correctly.

Landing on the metal roof of the hoovercar was not a pleasant experience, but Sonia wasn't thinking about that. She only wanted to get her daughter back and hug her. Her feet and knees absorbed the full impact of the fall, but she was in excellent physical condition and sustained no injuries. Years of military discipline paid off, and she could now thank all the sergeants for physical training.

Her jump caused the hoovercar to wobble slightly, and she nearly lost her balance. However, she grabbed onto an antenna and steadied herself on her feet. The autonomous vehicle apparently did think much of her, as it stabilized its flight and began to ascend rapidly. She felt the blast of air and the buffeting of the wind, and her eyes teared up, but she did not plan to give up. Her bare feet instantly became cold, and she felt a stinging in her soles. None of these things mattered; she only wanted to get her daughter back as soon as possible, the most important person in her life.

The machine kept ascending, heading towards the business district of Nova Varsovia.

She didn't know where she was being taken, but she realized that eventually, they would have to land, and she would be waiting for them. Even if she had to travel halfway around the world on the roof of this hoovercar. She looked around for a way in, but all possible openings could only be opened from the inside, and the vehicle had no windows. She thought briefly about damaging the drive or control module, but unfortunately, all components of the vehicle were hidden under thick armor.

Suddenly, she heard a metallic sound, and behind her, a hatch opened and one of the kidnappers appeared. He had no problem moving on the roof of the speeding vehicle, as he wore electromagnetic boots. He moved confidently, but slowly. First one leg with a loud screech landed on the roof, then the other. Several times he aimed to shoot her, but the hoovercar hit turbulence and was tossed about.
