Sweet and somber music glided through the room at first then as sudden as a light switch it turned into something that escalated the heart. Mr. Stensan was pairing people in his class together and the pair up was Maybaline and Chloe. Maybaline had a gentle stroke that had a calming effect, so it was all the more dramatic when Chloe's turn came. The other pairs were so focused on their perfect harmony that they ended up just blending their music into one. Maybaline and Chloe's music was like hot and cold; complete opposites. However, in a strange way their music had a harmony all of their own.

After they were done the entire class sat there in complete awe. Mr. Stensan was the first one to break the silence with a slow clap. "That was pretty good, girls, however I would recommend you to practice on your transition some more. Playing with different tempos is good and all but you need to also have an evolution to where the audience can comfortably switch from one to the other." He explained and all the two girls did was nod. They noticed long ago that every time there was a duet project, he always tied them together.

They made their bows just in time for class to be dismissed. After they were all out of the classroom, Maybaline glared at Chloe before snapping at her. "I told you not to be so violent with your part." She huffed.

"Well if your tempo was any longer, they would have fallen asleep." Chloe shot back defiantly. They really were like cat and dog, and each other's harshest critics. They gave each other one more snarky look before taking their separate ways.

In all reality, Chloe had a lot on her plate. Chloe traced the outline of her phone, thinking on how she must had dropped it before the mysterious pianist carried her home. Even though a few days has passed since then it still was fresh in her mind. It made her will of what she had to do all the stronger. She had to find a pianist that would work alongside her. Tugging her straps closer to her, she made her way to the piano department. There was no time like the present. Her mouth was dry at the very thought about asking someone to partner up with her. Chloe's fingers rubbed against each other, trying to keep her focus. She was determined to better herself as a musician. This was something that she had to do, no matter what.

When she got to the piano department she could only look with admiration. The section was huge and everything around her seemed to gleam. The halls were lined with art and trophies of past accomplishments. Compared to the violin department, it was huge! She didn't even know where to start.

Well she supposed she could start with where she heard a piano and go from there. That should be easy enough right? It was easier said than done however. It wasn't that every single person she heard was horrible, but most made her yawn. Chloe tried to shake off her bias. Maybe she needed someone that kept to the score to keep her on track. Was that what Mr. Stensan was referring to when he spoke of where she was meant to be headed? That fact she didn't know for sure, but she wouldn't know anything until she tried. Taking a deep breath, Chloe entered the room where she heard someone playing the piano.

"Hey, you still in the market for a pianist?" Shane busted in to Mr. Stensan's classroom with all the confidence he was raised with.

Mr. Stensan looked up then looked back down with a smile forming on his face. "You saw her, didn't you?" It was hard to keep the humor from his voice. When Shane refused to say anything, Mr. Stensan stood up and walked over to him. "Alright, I got one on board. Now we just have to convince her."

"Let me handle it. Where is she?" Shane asked, looking around the room as if to find her there. He turned half expecting to see Chloe when he heard a knock on the door.
