Shen wei awoke the next morning in time for breakfast and surprised Gelan but she was delighted to be able to talk to him. He seemed like a very nice person and she brought him a choice of items to find out what he liked because it was a learning process for her as well. Feng remained quiet but he watched everything, there was no way that anything dangerous would be allowed near Lord shen. Gelan stared at Wei every so often, she was sure that they met at some point in the past. She had recognised the way he lifted his cup to drink and cooled his tea by blowing across it, the way he glanced up every now and again when he felt her watching him, the way he looked as if he was paying attention to someone else when there was no one in the room, and the way he automatically pulled his left hand away to avoid touching someone.

"Give me your left hand Wei," Gelan asked, hoping that one of them might remember something, and he placed his hand in hers for a moment but nothing happened. He was about to let go when Gelan gripped it firmer as she stared into his eyes and saw images of other people in his life, this life felt false for a moment but she released her grip when she saw the black hooded man.

"I'll take your breakfast dishes with me Wei, and save the nurses some work, if you want anything press the buzzer above your bed," and she smiled as she left the room but dropped her facade once she was out of sight and handed the tray back into the kitchen. She'd felt that something major had happened and Wei was at the centre.

Feng had watched her reaction and knew that she'd seen something but he trusted her, she wasn't a threat. Shen Wei looked around this room and felt sure that he'd been in a hospital before but not this one and wondered if he could go for a walk. He should be safe enough, Feng would be with him and he wasn't planning on leaving the ward, so he swung his legs out of bed and wore his dressing gown to visit the other sleepers.

He didn't recognise any of them but he took his time and studied them carefully. They were all different ages but none were above 35 yrs old and the youngest was 30, it seemed strange that they were all within a five year age group. Wei was in the middle, or looked as if he was because no one except his closest contacts would know his real age. The men all looked similar even their hair, which was almost the same colour but in different styles and matched his dark shade. None of them wore jewellery except one man who wore a signet ring with his initials engraved on the face, SW written in italic.

Wei didn't feel so good, his initials were on the ring, did that mean he had the same name, maybe it was just a coincidence and his name was completely different except for his initials which was possible, he told himself but turned and headed back towards his own room. One of the windows in the corridor was wide open and a cold breeze hit him just as he reached his doorway. Wei shivered and reached for something to hold onto but Feng was beside him and helped him back into bed, pulling the cover up to give him some warmth, but he couldn't stop shivering and was slowly losing consciousness. Feng immediately pressed the buzzer for attention.

When Gelan came to find out why he had called, she realised by his condition that it wasn't him who had sent for her and she closed her eyes and concentrated.

"I know someone else is here and you're not a threat to him because it was you who sent for help, speak to me."

"Yes nurse, it was me. I'm his bodyguard, Feng. No one can see me. He started shivering when the cold blast from the open window caught him at the doorway and he hasn't stopped."

Gelan remained calm because she was not afraid of spirits and she thought that's what Feng was. Wei was visibly shaking and Gelan had no idea why but knew that she had to get some more heat for him.
