"Have you ever thought life wasn't worth living Ash?", she says staring out at the ocean.
"Yeah when Fez got locked up", Tara looks over at Ashtray only to see him already staring at her.
"What changed?", "I met you.".
"Tara!", a voice called loudly. Tara turns around seeing her bestfriends Gia and Naomi making their way towards her.
"Hey guys what's up?", "New kid", "He's so cute!", "He's alright...", Gia with a shrug. Naomi smiles dreamily thinking about the boy she sat next to in Biology class earlier.
"How do you know he's new? What if you just never noticed him before Naomi?", "Heard some kids talking about him, remember that family that got busted by the SWAT team? He's the kid that got locked up!".
"Oh...", "She's convinced he'll be her bad boy fantasy turned reality!", Gia says with fake enthusiasm.
Naomi rolls her eyes at Gia's response and looks behind Tara, her eyes lighting up immediately.
"Speaking of the new kid...", Tara turns around to see a boy standing at about 5'8, dark brown hair, with face tattoos, a few scars, and a fairly muscular build.
"Geez what were they feeding him? You sure he's 14?", "Everyone works out in jail, it's either that or... yknow... but he's cute right?!", Naomi grabs Tara's hand with hopeful eyes.
Tara nods with a supportive grin making Naomi squeal happily. Tara did genuinely think he was attractive but upon hearing about his past she ultimately decided to steer clear of him.
She wanted more than anything to get into Harvard Law, become a Lawyer known nation wide, and be good at what she does.
Getting involved with someone like him wasn't the best decision, she watched Naomi walk over to him at his locker.
"This won't end well at all...", Gia says with a sigh as they both watch Naomi grab his phone, beginning to put her number in.
"You have no idea", Tara says with a huff. Naomi was the most successful with boys in the group, she was known to hop from one guy to another.
It was only a matter of time before Ashtray became another guy added to that rotation.
But neither Tara or Gia judged her for it, they just wished she'd stop looking to guys for love and validation like her older sister, Cassie.
Who unfortunately established the reputation of being an easy girl her freshman at East Highland, like Naomi was bound to do if she didn't stop this habit.
She just broke up with Roy Mckay, a Junior that she hooked up with at the summer bonfire over the summer.
The bell rung and Gia said her goodbyes before walking away to her class, Tara walking in the opposite direction. Naomi was left all alone with Ashtray, who agreed to let her show him around the school.
