"Morning~" I say softly. My tired eyes immediately narrow at the behavior of my manager and assistant with their overly excited demeanor and big ass smiles.

Aside from today being the concert, today also marks my seventh year of being in the industry-- I don't know why they're so fucking giddy. This is my seventh year with Elaine, my manager, and my third year working with my assistant, Freya, and I know damn well that none of us are morning people so there really isn't a reason for them to be over the moon.

"Good morning~" Elaine says. All of us turn down the hallway where the dressing rooms are in the Capital One Arena.

"Why are you guys acting so weird?" I ask while laughing, "It's eight in the morning... why are we over the moon right now?"

"First-- there's a lot of celebrities who will be watching the sound check." Freya says while handing showing me her clipboard.

I let out a gasp as I look at the clipboard, stopping dead in my tracks before the dressing room, "Wait, what do you mean Adele is gonna-- Angela Bassett? MERYL STREEP?!"

"Yeah, but there's another surprise in your dressing room." Elaine says, opening the door for me as both of my arms are occupied with my belongings.

I let out a yelp upon seeing everybody from last night's FaceTime call, making everybody burst into a laughing fit. I start smiling shyly after realizing how I look like-- I legit look like I'm drowning clothes with my big ass hoodie and oversized sweats. Not to mention I have no makeup on and my eyes are still a little puffy from crying last night. The only redeeming quality at the moment is my damn hair.

"What the hell was that?" Maya laughs out.

"Hi-- sorry, I look like shit right now..." I say as I set my belongings down on one of the couches so I can properly greet everybody.

"Please, I wish I could look like you in the mornings." Kamala says, making my smile get bigger as blood rushes to my cheeks at the little compliment. Now is truly not the time to have a gay panic, especially when her damn husband is in the room.

"Oh-" I let out before all of us hear the cavalry, that is my team and the production team for the concert, rushing down the hallway, "Hope y'all are ready."

I give the group a small before I open the door to see a whole gaggle of people. Hands extending out to hand over papers, questions and information being thrown at me left and right-- the group sitting in the little lounge area of the dressing room watch in awe. The entire chaos-filled scene make them watch silently as I'm able to give clear answers to each question thrown at me.

My team leaves after receiving their answers before I close the door, turning around to see shock and awe on the group's faces, "What?"

"How the hell can you do that?" Kamala asks as I walk over to the vanity.

I shrug while setting the papers down, turning around to look at them, but my eyes rest on Kamala, "I've been doing this since I was fifteen-- I basically have open ears at all times. Plus, I learned from the best."

"Like we could forget that you basically came from Hollywood royalty." Meena says, making me roll my eyes.

My parents are actors and it's a little ironic that my brother and I followed in their footsteps considering they didn't want us to even me in the spotlight. Collin and I kind of doubled down by also releasing music, but our parents never stopped us from what we really wanted to do.

"Lord-- I am never beating the nepo baby allegations." I let out with a little sigh and slight head shake.

"You are most definitely not a nepo baby-- you actually worked hard for what you did." Maya says, making me gasp.
