(David's POV )
"Hello, this is Mystique Manor," A man's voice speaks through the phone.
"Can I speak with Lia Dunn please?" I ask.
"Please hold," he says. "It's seems like she's busy at the moment would you like to leave her a message?"
"Yes."
"Okay, one moment, and I'll transfer your call."
He puts me through, and the line starts ringing. Eventually it stops, and the sound of her voicemail greeting plays.
"Heyy, it's Lia Dunn leave me a message after the beep. If you can't find me, I'm probably on the dance floor," she sounds drunk, and happy with loud music playing in the background.
It beeps cuing me to leave a message. Unsure of what to say I just hang up. I wait until her nightclub opens before I grab my phone, and wallet as I head out the door. Practically running all the way there. I slow down noticing the long line, and bouncers at the front door. Great. I stand in the line waiting for my turn to enter. It takes a while until he bouncers wand me down with a metal detector, and let me through. With a bunch of other people I wait as we take groups on an elevator. There's so many people some going to, and from the restaurant that I can hardly recognize the lobby from earlier today.
I get on the elevator, and the tenant presses a button taking us to the top floor. Getting off we walk towards the loud thudding of music, and brightly colored lights. I get a layout of the area, and find a spot at the bar. The area soon gets filled with people making it harder to not seem suspicious as I scan the crowd. Not wanting to draw too much attention to myself I order a quick drink, and move to another spot. Keeping my eyes peeled for her in the crowd.
Hours pass, and just as I was about to try to look for her elsewhere something catches my eye. Sequins flicker, and shine under the lights above. A beautiful silhouette that's been etched into my brain.
There she is swaying her hips to the beat of the music amongst the crowd of people. I finish my drink, and make my way through the crowd to her. My heart almost explodes out of my chest when she looks up, meeting her eyes with mine. There is on doubt in my mind... It's really her. Before I have a chance to react she pulling me in to dance with her.
"Well, hello there," she says in my ear. "Are you here off duty?"
I just stare at her in stunned silence.
"I love me a man in uniform," she laughs. " Especially when they're out, of their uniforms."
Her words remind me of those she'd jokingly say to me on our date nights. She'd pretend like we didn't know each other whenever we would meet up after work on the weekends.
I can't take it anymore... I slip an arm around her waist, and run my other hand through her hair as I pull her in for a kiss. She deepens the kiss, and we embrace for a few moments before pulling away out of breath. She takes my hand, and leads me out of the crowd to a door. I watch as she types in a passcode, and opens it. I follow her down a small hallway to a smaller elevator. As we wait I think think about asking her some questions now that we are alone. But she pulls me by my belt buckle bring her soft lips to mine. The elevator opens, and we back up into it. She giggles as she hits a button behind her, closing the doors, and sending us down. Then she leads me into another hall, and over to another door. She types in a code, opens the door, and pulls me inside.
