I felt her place a soft kiss on my cheek, her beautiful long brown hair tickling my nose. I let out a slight giggle and looked into her shiny ocean blue eyes. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see my father happier than I have ever seen him -

"Ring, ring, ring," The alarm goes off scaring the living daylight out of me. I punch the off button and sit up in my bed. Just like every other night, I dreamt of my mother again, being with me. I really did miss her, I still remember when she passed away, even though I was so young.

"Get up and make us some breakfast!" my stepmother Carol shouts, abruptly barging into my room while pulling out rollers from her hair.

"Coming," I say in monotone, getting out of my bed.

My dad felt that I needed to have a mother figure, after my own mother passed away. His good intentions became bad decisions once he found Carol. Let's just say she is more of an evil witch than a step mom. Her daughters, Chloe and Tracie, are two spoiled brats. They get anything and everything they want since their mom has enough money to blow her nose in.

Humming the tune to my favourite song while placing an egg on Chloe's plate, I was interrupted by the brat herself.

"I never said I wanted eggs!" Chloe shrieks, looking at her plate in disgust. It's not like I put bugs on it, although some day I might gain the courage to actually fulfill my thoughts.

"Sorry, Chloe. Next time I'll ask you first," I say, trying my best not to make it sound sarcastic while placing the final two eggs on Tracie and Carol's plate.

I trudge up the stairs to my room, throwing on some light wash jeans, a purple t-shirt, with my favorite grey hoodie overtop. Grabbing my backpack, a banana, some spare change for a lunch and my skateboard, I swing the door open; the cool morning breeze attacking my face.

"Bye," I say throwing my skateboard on the ground going as fast as I can to get to school on time.

Not even five minutes later a voice yells, "Hey Acacia, hop in!" I get off my board and hop into the car beside my best friend Madison.

"Hey Maddy ,what's up?" I ask her, noticing how cheerful she was. Usually she wasn't a morning person.

"Nothing much, but we better hurry if we want to make it to class!" She states, parking into the only available parking spot left. We get out of the car, rushing towards our school.

"See you at lunch Maddy! " I yell turning my head back to look at her, while running towards my locker simultaneously.

"Whoa, watch where you're going!" a deep voice scolds.

Turning around, I'm greeted by the beautiful face of Adam Sinclair, one of the most popular and best looking guys in Western Academy. I feel my cheeks burn up as I quickly whisk out of his way to my locker without making eye contact with him. Adam and I are in the same drama class together and I must say, he's amazing at both singing and acting. I don't talk to him, but he's too arrogant to care anyways. Grabbing my books for the morning, I head towards my first period, not giving Adam, or anyone else for that matter, a second thought.

* Two hours later*

"Practice your lines, and get them memorized by next week! Oh and don't forget to check out the flyer on the door! For the first time ever, we will be having a school singing competition!" Mr Quinton, the drama teacher, calls out to us as the bell signalling lunch rang.

I run to my locker to grab my lunch money and head to the cafeteria. Looking around the room I spot Madison and her friends sitting at our usual table, talking. Walking over towards them, I'm joined into the conversation.
