Shravani's heart shattered once more, caught in a whirlwind of emotions that left her feeling helpless, furious, and broken. Anger surged through her as she remembered Karthik's promise. He had assured her he would never leave abruptly, that if a time ever came where they had to part, he'd make sure she felt supported. He had promised to stand by her, to keep her calm, to ease her through the pain. But now, he'd simply sent a message. Not even a call. Just a single, detached text, as if she meant nothing to him. Shravani's mind reeled. How could he cut off their bond, just like that? He knew his parents wouldn't agree overnight; that was why he'd initially asked her for time, to approach this peacefully once his exams were over. He had even told her it could take three or four months. Yet now, he'd discarded it all with a few words. No explanation, no comfort—just a message to say goodbye.

Her fury mixed with heartbreak, frustration blurring into a storm of unanswered questions. Why didn't he try harder? What made him abandon everything so suddenly? Shravani had trusted him, loved him, and now it felt like he'd betrayed her without a second thought. The man who once vowed he'd never leave her unprepared had vanished behind a screen, leaving her grasping for reasons. She wanted to scream, to demand answers, but all she had was the emptiness of his absence.

The next morning, unable to bear the silence, Shravani called Karthik. She didn't call to beg him to stay—she just needed clarity. More than closure, she wanted Karthik himself. But if being with him wasn't possible, she at least deserved to understand what had changed. Why had he given up so suddenly, abandoning his own promises? She needed to hear his voice, to feel that something real still connected them, if only for a few moments.

But Karthik didn't answer. Shravani called three times, each time met by silence. She sent a message, hoping he'd respond, only to discover he'd blocked her on text. She dialed once more, a final attempt, but he remained unreachable. Karthik hadn't blocked her calls, but his silence made it clear he had no intention of speaking. Realizing this, Shravani knew she couldn't press him further. She'd tried, reached out, and now she had to respect his choice to remain silent. Still, as she set down her phone, a flicker of hope lingered in her heart. She held onto the faint belief that, after his exams, he might find his way back to her, just as he'd once promised.
