"I'm so sorry, Shadow, I wish you could stay. If it were up to me, I wouldn't let you go. I wouldn't want you to go to the Volturi,"

"You have give her to the Volturi! Alice saw it in her vision! There will be great chaos if not!" Bella screeched.

After Alice had told them about her vision, Bella went wild. She'd spent years hating her daughter, and giving everything to Renesmee. Hell, she'd even tried to starve Shadow when she was a child! If it weren't for the rest of the Cullen, including Edward, Shadow would be dead by now.

"No, Bella," Alice hissed. stepping in to defend her niece. "It was Renesmee I saw, not Shadow! They don't know about her. It was Renesmee's chocolate eyes I saw, not Shadow's dark blueish violet ones,"

"Hang on. Let me make the decision. I mean, it should be my choice," Shadow stepped up, and the room fell into a void of silence. "Let me go instead of Renesmee. I can defend myself. And I can compromise," She whispered, an angelic voice escaping her.

"No, Shadow!" Rosalie cried. Shadow was basically the daughter she never had, she didn't want to see her leave.

"It's going to be fine, Rosalie. I'll visit," She promised softly. "Okay, I must leave now,"

Rosalie wrapped her in a tight hug. "I'll miss you,"

Alice gave her a small smile, "I'm so sorry, Shadow, I wish you could stay. If it were up to me, I wouldn't let you go. I wouldn't want you to go to the Volturi,"

She smiled sadly, before hybrid speeding to the airport.

Shadow took a deep breath, and stepped through the doors of the Volturi Castle.

Her heels tapped the cold marble floor with each step, and the faint scent of blood hung in the air. Her heart thrummed in her chest, but the fear was now replaced with numbness.

I'm doing this for my family.

She repeated the sentence in her head, blocking out all the doubting thoughts she had.

Soon though, her feet brought her to the heavy door. Beyond it, was Aro and the others, possibly already expecting her arrival. Sure enough, that was the case.

As soon as she pushed open the doors, Aro ran off his throne in his usual self-absorbed cheery self.

"Hello, Renesmee! It's so-," He was cut short by Shadow's correction.

"It's Shadow. Shadow Stellar Cullen," She interrupted, not at all caring if Aro was annoyed. "Renesmee's twin sister. If you want to know my past and why I'm here, go ahead,"

Aro paused for a second, before smiling and sticking out his hand. "I'm glad you won't be problematic," He exclaimed in a sickly sweet cheery tone.

Shadow placed her small hand in his, and allowed him to read her past, and why she was here. As soon as his eyes lit up, she jerked her hand away.

"There. Now you know why I'm here," She said flatly.

"I'm sorry, child. Would you like to join our ranks? You'll be a great addition to our guard" He asked, voice filled with hope.

"On one condition. If you promise to leave the Cullens alone, except Bella, and if you allow my family to visit when they want." Shadow said, crossing her arms and staring at them harshly.

Aro looked taken aback, but nodded. "Great! Demetri, please show her to her room,"

Demetri nodded. "Follow me, Shadow," He called, leaving the throne room, not even checking to see if the girl was following him.

She rolled her eyes, but followed nonetheless.

There was another reason why. Besides her power, besides her ties, besides her being a hybrid, there was something more. Another reason why they needed her.

A/N: Sorry if this sucks. I promise it'll get better. Anyways, comment and vote maybe?
