Chapter 7: Maddie?

Ella's POV

We had been walking for a few hours. We were hungry and I did summon some peanuts for everyone to eat. I don't want them knowing the full extent of my abilities yet. I saw the looks Carol and Tyreese gave me when I told them I couldn't summon too much. But I think it was the look I gave the two back that made them shut up. 

Cato was with his friends catching up. I saw the angered look on the girls face. Clove. Cato had his arm wrapped around her shoulder. I could tell she was trying to look mad but she gave up after ten minutes accepting it. That whole group had huge smiles on their faces. I looked over to see Percy, Will, and Leo all talking with the boy in the cowboy hat, Carl.

I rolled my eyes seeing that. How could they be so quick to trust. I looked to Reyna to find her already looking at me. I point to the group with Carl and she too roles her eyes. She walks right to my side and leans her head close to my ears.

" They need to be careful we still don't know if we can trust these people yet." She whispers in my ear. I nod before responding.

" We don't know if we can trust Catos friends either. Its been a year since he saw them they might have changed." I whispered back. Reyna gives me a questioning look probably because I was so fast to say yes back at the cabin." I said they could stay because we need to learn more about them. I didn't like the idea of having them in close quarters but we are obviously going to be seeing a lot of them. We need to get to know them. Know their next step." I say. My voice did get a bit louder but the only person to look at me was Nico who was on my other side.

" Ella I trust your judgement but we might want to have one of us keep watch tonight just in case. Wherever that might be. I can keep watch, the walkers will stay away, and I barely sleep anymore." My brother says from my side. I look at him in shock.

" Didn't Will say to start getting sleep for at least 7 hours. Nico you're not going to like this but I am not letting you keep watch. I can keep watch we'll be fine." I say before I could get yelled at by my brother I wal;ked over to Will who was still talking to the mini sheriff.

"What's up Ella?" He  asks alreting most of the huge group that I was close. I thought I could see Carls dad, Rick, put his hand on the colt python.

" Will I need you to make sure Nico actually sleeps tonight. He hasn't been sleeping." I say I feel a hit on my shoulder and know Nico walked up from behind.

" That's it I'm going to kill my boyfriend." He says while walking away.

" Hey that's my brother!," I yell then remember something that doesn't scare him but might scare the others." And hey its going to be hard to kill the son of the god of death. " I see the new part of the groups faces instantly pale and walk a little faster and farther ahead." Remember mini sheriff  theres two kids of the god of death here." I say to intimidate him. I walked back to Reyna who snuck me a small high-five.

Carls POV Finally getting to do one of these

" Remember mini Sheriff there's two kids of the god of death here." she says. She walks away and I realize that she probably could kill me right now if she wanted to. 

" Hey don't take what she says seriously dude, stuff happened last year. None of us are the same. She created walls and no one has been able to break those walls down. You know what I mean?" Percy asks me.

 I just nod, what he doesn't know is I think I found one person who can break down those walls. The Reyna girl. She seems really close with her, her brother Nico and her have the same problem from what I can tell. They build up walls and only let their loved one in. I haven't been able to talk to the other new people but I have learned their names. Piper is the strikingly beautiful girl in the corner. She was walking with the boy who could apparently summon lightning.
