(Short Chapter.)
Ava walked into her new dorm room, holding boxes and boxes of clothes. Her mother came in right behind holding more of her stuff. She placed it on a nearby table and sighed, but then began to smile.
"Well Ava, that seems to be the last of the boxes." Her mom said, tears beginning to form. She wiped her eyes and softly smiled at her. "Please don't get into any trouble."
Ava rolled her eyes. "Chill out Mom! I'm gonna be fine. You know I'm not a bad kid."
Her mother sighed. "I know.. but I just worry. There are so many terrible people in the world these days. I just don't want you to become one of them."
Ava shrugged her shoulders. "Well Mom, don't worry about me. I'm too shy to even talk to another person!"
Her mom sighed. "Okay honey. I should trust you. Now come give me a hug before I leave!"
She pulled Ava in, and the two hugged for a long time. This would be the last time she would see her mother for another year, due to her college being in a completely different state.
"I love you, Ava." Her mom said, with a saddened smile.
"I love you too Mama." Ava said.
A few minutes later her mother finally left, and it was just Ava. She looked around at her lifeless room, but turned to see her roommate's bed. It was a camo bed cover with gigantic white pillows, and a cute teddy bear in the middle. She couldn't wait to meet her roommate, as she desperately needed a friend to help her get around campus.
Suddenly, the door opened quite loudly, and a young girl with long brown hair, thick but not fat shaped body, a leather jacket, jean shorts coated with fishnets, and glam makeup walked in the room. She smelt like cigarettes.
"Umm, what the fuck are you doing in my dorm?" She asked.
Ava panicked. "Umm, this IS dorm 203, correct? I just moved in literally five minutes ago and—"
The girl huffed. "Are you fucking serious!? I have to share a room with a damn FRESHMAN?!" She whined.
Ava stood there. "I'm sorry—I won't bother you at all.."
The girl started grinning. "I'm just messing, I knew you were coming. Just giving you are hard time. She winked.
Ava felt the presence of relief. "Please don't do stuff like that." she nervously laughed.
The girl smiled. "I'm Brielle. Nice to meet you."
"Ava. Ava Ricca!" She said happily.
Brielle looked around. "So, Ava. Do you party? Drink? Fuck around? Smoke?" She teased.
Ava shook her head. "Happy to say I've never done any of those!"
Brielle's jaw dropped. "Girllll. You've never been to a party?! Or DRANK!? Well babygurl, welcome to college. You are about to be in for a wild ride. Literally."
Ava shrugged. "I don't know. I've just always been told how much trouble I can get in at parties. And I don't really have friends anyway—"
"Well, Ava. Consider me your new friend. I am taking you to a party this year" she smiled.
Ava laughed. "A party? When?"
Brielle smirked. "Tomorrow night."
Ava shook her head. "Not happening. I can't get in trouble on day 2."
Brielle sighed. "You should comeee.. maybe you'll meet a hot guy along the way.
Ava laughed. "No guy would ever like me. I'm too quiet."
Brielle grinned. "What! I think you are so sweet even though I've literally said one word to you! I'm forcing you to go to this party with me—whether you like it or not. Please??"
She looked to the side. "I don't know.. I really don't know anyone here. I'd just sit in the corner like a loser."
"No you won't! I'll include you in everything I do. Please? Please!" She begged.
Ava shrugged. "Alright. Fine. But I need you to help me pick what to wear."
"Oh my gosh yay! You are not gonna regret this!" Brielle smiled.
Ava smiled. "I really hope that's true."
