Chapter 19: Fall of the fairies
Ref: This will be a 2v2, Challenger Marnie vs Gym Leader Valerie. Trainers, please send out your pokemon!
Marnie: Mogrem.
Valerie: Mawile.
Ref: BEGIN!
Marnie: Elemental Punch.
Ash: Copycat!
Marnie: Go. To. Sleep.
Valerie: Metal Claw.
The two clashed, trading blows. Mogrems fist was glowing with the elements, while Mawiles Hands were shining, moving quickly.
Marnie: Low Sweep!
Mogrem ducked under the metal claw, sweeping Mawiles legs from under her. She hit the ground hard, then Mogrem hit her over and over again with a fire punch. Mawile tried to get up, but he was overpowering.
Mogrem: Go to sleep go to sleep go to sleep-
Mawile caught the fire punch. She spit out some blood, glaring at Mogrem.
Mogrem: (In a small voice) Sorry.
The steel fairy uppercutted the dark fairy into the roof, breaking through it. She jumped up, using Iron Head to push Mogrem back into the ground.
Marnie: Oh crap! Lady Luck, it's all on you. Metronome!
Mogrem glowed purple. It vanished, reappearing in front of Marnie. Mawile hit the ground headfirst. She got back up angrily, giving Mogrem a glare.
Valerie: Teleport. At least it wasn't something like Fusion Flare.
Marnie: At this rate we're gonna lose. But none of my Pokemon can take this thing. Mawiles base stats are only 380, why is this strong? Shes a fairy user, and misty terrain is up as soon as we entered. There's no way she-, no she would. Mogrem that's not a Mawile.
Valerie: She figured it out. Drop the illusion.
Instead of a Mawile, this pokemon was a Tinkton. Valerie laughed, while Marnie had a pissed off expression. Mogrem growled low as Tinkaton twirled her hammer.
Valerie: I ditched Mawile, as soon as I discovered this beauty. Using a little fairy mist, I disguised it. Think of this as...part of the challenge.
Marnie: Bastard. Mogrem Parting Shot.
Mogrem nerfed Tinktons offensive power, then switched out. His replacement was the perfect fairy counter, Pawniard. The steel types used Swords Dance, Iron Defense, and Scary Face.
Marnie: Freestyle.
Pawniard charged in. Marnie snapped and he jumped, evading the incoming dazzling gleam. Marnie's eyes twitched, and Pawniard used Night Slash, spinning around. The flash cannon was launched right back at Tinkaton.
Valerie: How in the-
Pawniard slashed Tinkaton across the eye, kicking the fairy into a wall. Tinkaton threw her hammer out, but Pawniard cut it in half with a metal claw. He threw the hammer aside, looking at Tinkatons broken face the entire time.
Bonnie: Go Pawniard!
Pawniard: Shut it girl, I'm focusing.
Ash: Be nice!
Marnie tapped her forehead. Pawniad ducked, dodging the incoming fairy wind. Marnie cracked her knuckle. Pawniard used Kowtow Cleave. His arms turned black, and he appeared behind Tinkaton. The fairy crumpled to the ground.
