Alastor walked into a small and quaint cafe, looking around and spotting who he is there to see. A young doe like demon, sitting at a corner booth, her back facing away from the door. A dangerous move to make in hell, but she didn't seem to be concerned as she happily sipped on what seemed to be a chocolate shake. Alastor walks over, placing his claws over the girls' eyes, a smug smirk finding its way onto his face.
"Good evening papa!" The girl says, not moving an inch from her spot.
"Oh, I could never fool you, now could, I my dear." He sighs amused, removing his hands from her face, and taking a seat across from her as his shadow departs from him and hugs his daughter, playing with her hair excited to see her after so long.
"Your static and smell gives you away papa. You kept me waiting for a long time." The girl comments while greeting her favorite shadow uncle-figure. "I missed you as well Shadow."
Alastor tenses, before relaxing into his seat with a sigh. He leans forward, placing his elbows on the table and placing his head to rest on his hands, head tilting to the side as he looked over at the doe softly.
"I know, I am sorry my fawn, but it couldn't be helped." He says, feeling a pang of regret for leaving her alone for so long.
"Seven years papa. I woke up one morning and you were just gone... you didn't even leave a note." Her expression hardens, remembering the day she found out her father left her all those years ago. Alastor's shadow wraps around her in comfort, to which she smiles at him, petting his head in thanks.
"I know my fawn, I know. I wished it didn't come to that, but what she wants, unfortunately she gets." Alastor looks down, knowing what it's like to lose a beloved parent, having gone through losing his mother not even a year after his daughter was born. She looks him in the eyes, trying to find something... anything.
She sighs. "Can you tell me why? Or where you went. Normal Sinners aren't allowed to leave pride." Her grips tighten on the glass.
"Not now... I'm sorry I abandoned you. You shouldn't have had to..." She ends up cutting him off.
"You said it yourself papa, she wanted it done. You had no choice." His little fawn is too understanding, and he once again wonders how he got lucky enough to have her as his daughter.
"Well, enough of ruminating about the past. How have you been my fawn? Are you eating enough? Getting enough sleep? Is there anyone I need to make... disappear?" He grins at the last part, wondering if his daughter found a potential mate in his seven-year absence. Even though he left Husker and Niffty in charge of watching her, and knowing Rosie looked out for her as well.
"In order? I've been ok father, just a bit lonely. Yes, I'm eating enough, and your one to talk about getting enough sleep. But no, there's no one in my life romantically." She rolls her eyes, knowing how overprotective her father could be. "I know you had Husk, Niffty and Rosie watching me."
Alastor chuckles, his daughter knew him too well... maybe too well for her own good.
"Even if I could not be there for you personally, I wanted to make sure you were safe and well taken care of." He hums, taking a sip of the coffee, his daughter had preordered for him.
She smiles, bringing her milkshake up to take another sip, humming in contentment as she tastes the wonderful sugar filled drink.
"I know papa, I love you."
"And I you, Ma petite Angélique."
-End-
